i really think i have already written this recently on here, but maybe it was just a dream.

anyway, i saw a segment on "a current affair" that was about whether people are more likely to accept computer generated number choices on their lotto tickets, rather than stick to their own superstitions (like birthdays and anniversaries and ages of their children etc).

one lady who was elderly said, in response to the question "would you let a computer pick your numbers for you?"

old lady: "never. i've used the same numbers all my life, but i've never won a thing".

i thought "well that is the problem. at some point, you should have realized that the numbers you were choosing were not working out for you, and you should have abandoned them and tried new combinations of numbers"

i suddenly developed an interest in "golden finch rifles", but when i woke up and searched eagerly for where i could buy one, i found they did not exist.

i learned that shotguns are the weapons that they use for shooting birds, not rifles.
so i searched then for "golden finch shotguns", but i was similarly dissatisfied with the lack of information.

oh well. it is lucky for me that there are no golden finches in australia.
