So far I don't really like Windows 8.

when an extremity is deprived of a sufficient amount of blood, it is reported by people as feeling like their extremity "went to sleep".
so someone who has been laying on their arm says their arm has gone to sleep, and when interrogated as to how that feels, they will say it feels like "pins and needles".

how does one tell the difference between the sensation of being pricked by pins and being pricked by needles?

person: i can't feel my left hand!

other person: well then hold it with your right hand, and then you will feel it.

person: no! i mean i can't feel it by itself.

other person: obviously! i can not feel my left hand with my left hand either!

person: no! i mean my left hand feels like "pins and needles"

other person: do you mean it feels like pins and needles when you feel your left hand with your right hand? or do you mean that it feels like your left hand is grasping in a tin of pins and needles?

person: yeah! that sounds like it!

other person: but i still can not see how needles points are able to be discerned from pin points in a tactile way.

person: that is not the point!
