I agree it's disgusting. When I use any toilet except at my home, I always first wipe the surface of the seat with the toilet paper and then use more paper to completely cover the seat before using it. It's waste of paper, but I can't bear the thought of sitting directly on whatever might be stuck on the seat. In a multicultural environment there are so many ways of doing things and some of them can be quite disgusting to some people.

Which is why it should be explained before GOING to that country!

If I go elsewhere, I'm going to want to know major differences before I encounter them... like expecting that disgusting hole in the floor. Hard to imagine 1/3 of the population in India don't actually have access to a toilet and do it in the streets. 8O

Even in some southern European countries many public restrooms still have just the hole in the floor. Last time I was in Italy (admittedly several years ago), the train stations at Milan and Vicenza both had just a hole in the floor. Plus you had to tip the attendant to get a couple of squares of waxy paper to use as tissue. Hotels had normal sit-down toilets, though.

Strictly speaking, no you didn't. Your first post on this page says:

Laurie Dann committed the shooting in 1988 and Brenda Spencer in 1979, so technically no one has defeated you.

I hadn't heard of either incident until this thread. They always make it sound as if Columbine was the first when the topic is discussed in the media.

We go from one extreme to the other- but its really the same disease!

Thanks for the info on Brenda Spencer.

I think I read about her in Rolling Stone back when it happened. I can't recall exactly when that was, but it must've been back in the 1980s because The Boomtown Rats wrote their song, I Don't Like Mondays, after that, and that was in the 1980s. That song was about her, in case anyone didn't know it.

Oh and in case people don't know that about her, "I don't like Mondays" was what she said when asked why she shot everyone. :(

I am not sure if what I read is online or not. That was way before the internet. I remember when her photo was printed too. (ETA: The photo that won the photo contest. Now I remember it was also her self portrait, since every image in it was her.) It was printed in Scholastic Magazine I think? I remember looking at it and thinking there was something spooky about it. When the story came out about the shooting I recognized her quickly. Kind of a sinking feeling. No one could have predicted that, though.
Huh? What photo contest do you exactly mean? I know that she once had won a television by entering a photo contest, and the photo had something to do with dogs, she wasn't in it..
Also, she is not a schizophrenic. :P

Dear bOOts,

I do not believe that Ms. spencer is a schizophrenic, but she has tried to put the blame for her actions on anyone and everything but herself...she is due for her next parole hearing in 3 years.

Personally, I believe she should not be released.

Personally, I believe that this was pre-planned.

In that case, you all failed. I win, you lose

Actually, the losers are the people that were killed because one person was hateful and homicidal and the other was insane and dangerous and the obviously worsening behavior disregarded.

If Laurie Dann had been able to disguise the bitter taste of the arsenic that she mixed into the snacks and fruit drinks that she brought to a fraternity, a sorority, and the elementary school, many more would have died.

This is my 929th post.

I think palindromic prime numbers are cool.

your post count is not set in concrete. you currently have 930 posts, and in a few months you will have many more, so your claim that you have 929 posts at that time will be incorrect.

Why, thank you.

I did it at 929 because the next palindromic prime number would be 10,301, and I don't see myself posting that much in the near future. :D

*sigh* Forum trolling: Failed. But then I do not have much experience at all in trolling.

Okay, here's an actual unpopular opinion. At least I think it's unpopular because I seem to be the only one saying this, but Lars Ulrich of Metallica is a terrible drummer. If I had to name the worst metal drummer of all time, it would likely be Lars Ulrich. Thus far I haven't heard anyone worse, but there's plenty of time I'm sure to find someone. I mean, come on, his double bass peddling is weak, his fills are almost always clumsy, and his drum licks are sneer-worthy.

I find toy and the many other small dog breeds to be useless science abominations.
