On the one hand, they're 50% owned by a large Israeli company, and I figure those guys probably are pretty smart operators, but on the other hand their assets are in the North Sea, which puts them at the mercy of Ed 'Bernie Winters' Miliband and his Net Zero fixation. Strange one, but I couldn't resist.

Well, best of British to you DH.

Today's purchases:

(From Aldi) 8 x Muffins: £1.30

Chicken & Bacon Wrap: £2.49

(From Poundland) 2 Litres Milk: £1.00

Fry's Chocolate Cream Peppermint £1.00

(From Home Bargains) 2 x 'Nurishment' Vanilla Drink: £2.58

2 Packs Dextro Energy Tablets: £0.99

1 Donner Kebab: £1.49

Total Expenditure: £10.84

You'd pay about £6 for a Donner Kebab at a takeaway these days, and the DIY kit I bought last week at Aldi was £3.20, so it'll be interesting to see if the £1.49 version from Home Bargains is any good.

£1 for 2 litres of milk (almost 4 pints) at Poundland is an absolute bargain these days. Sad to read that the company is in trouble, and might be closing over 100 stores nationwide. Hope our local one isn't among them.

A few minutes ago, I was talking to my niece. The conversation went like this:

Me: Did I tell you that I bought a new kitchen appliance the other day and it should be delivered tomorrow?
Niece: No.
Me: I bought a new kitchen appliance the other day and it should be delivered tomorrow.

A woman sitting about ten feet away cracked up over that.
