My mom sometimes tells me that I'm "waiting for the other shoe to drop", which is an expression meaning that when things are going well in your life, you feel like it's too good to be true and expect something bad to ruin it at any moment.

That's basically how I feel about going into 2014.

It's getting pretty hot here. Probably >30C. I may have to turn on the air-con pretty soon. My laptop surely will overheat and turn itself off.

I put the rubbish bin out on the night before the usual rubbish collection day. On the following day I realized that I was the only one on the street that had put the bin out. It turned out that the rubbish day was changed only for that week. How did all the other people know about it? I felt stupid, excluded and embarrassed though no one said anything about it.
