Thanks for the advice.

I do stretch it, and that seems to help. My bathtub is a bit small for me to lie in unfortunately.

I've got this back pain from my habit of hunching my back to make myself seem smaller. Just there I decided to see how much smaller I actually make myself, so I measured my height while in my normal posture and my height when standing straight. I found that I lose about 3 or 4 inches of my height in my normal posture.

I'm not sure if they have corsets for guys,
but what helped me was to wear a corset (or bustier, whatever they're called in lingerie stories)
It helps you 'cause sitting/standing in any other position than upright just feels weird (as the boning gently pokes you in the ribs etc. as a reminder).

Another thing I learned in drama class was to pretend that you were a puppet and there's strings attached all over your body.
Right in the middle of your head there's also a string and if you imagine that being pulled up (position your body like it), it helps to keep in mind to stand up straight.

With dance class it was basically the old 'shoulders back, head up' thing. Pulling your shoulders back does help to keep your back straight though. And it feels very nice, the stretching of the muscles you can feel.
I tend to stand all hunched up as well, and what I do is exaggerate the shoulders back thing, as i'm not used to standing straight, but exaggerating it gets me in just the right position.

Another nice stretching exercise from dance class was this:

Stand with your feet slightly apart (about shoulder width).
Lift your arms up so your hands so they are slightly stretched out and are above your head, palms of your hands facing each other.
Now pretend your picking apples from a tree. But the apples are verrrrrry high up so you strrrrretch with one arm to pick the apple... you bring your arm down and try it with the other arm...bring that one down and repeat with the other arm etc.
It really helps to stretch your back and because you really have to reach (for the imaginary apples) it keeps your back straight.

Actually, if you're okay with following a dance class (ballet in particular), I highly suggest you do it 'cause it's one of the best things you can do for your back.

Thanks for that advice.

I gave that 'apple-picking' exercise a go, and it definitely stretched my back out.

I wouldn't have the confidence to go to a dance class though, I'm afraid. I'm far too self-conscious.

I can understand that:)
Though it is a shame, dancing is so nice. But perhaps you could get a book on yoga with basic exercises in it, I'm pretty sure yoga deals with keeping your back straight etc. as well, and you could peacefully do it in your own home (though don't try any of the complicated exercises without supervision from a professional etc. or you might get tied up in a knot;)).

Anywayyyyyyyyy

Look at the time. 4:12am.
And the first birds have started chirping.
Have no idea how I'll be able to function today, but for now I really should get some sleep >_<

Night people!

Ah, a woodlouse (or as I know them, a slater). There are so many regional names for them.

I used to lift up the slabs in my back garden to go looking for those guys when I was a child. I found them fascinating.

I had an interesting discussion today with an AS friend of mine.
I asked him to give me a mark out of 10 on how outwardly "aspieish" I am, he gave me a 3. I gave him a 6 (he's actually about an 8 but I didn't want to lower his confidence) and he gave one boy we know 1/2, but this boy is at the same level as me but my friend gives him a lower score than me. Which is strange because the boy mentioned is just like me he's like a mirror, but my friend still gave me 3 and him 1/2, my friend also doubts that boy actually has it and was misdiagnosed.
I don't know if I am on the same level as that boy or if I'm just convincing myself that I'm better than I actaully am.

Just felt like saying lol

Gamer1, as per random thoughts go I'll say the following-- maybe oneday regular people and Aspies can live side by side one another without fear, ingnorance, hatred for another but, until that day I'll be continuing to fight for those whom have no voice and make sure none of "us" becomes forgotten about in a manner of speaking..

Made an appointment with my dr. about aspergers.

I get to tell her tomorrow, early morning.

I'm so nervous I'm probably just going to chicken out and ask for the pill or something stupid like that lol.
