Why is it, that to a NT person, having absolute crap is better than having nothing at all?

It is winter here and I am not allowed to have a heater or light in my room and I am only allowed to have a 3 minute shower every second day because the family is trying to 'save money'.

I pay them $150/wk for the privilege of sleeping on a futon in a back half of the shed...my own family...because they are trying to 'save money'...everything is about f***king 'saving money'....it has now become an OCD obsession with them and it's bad....real bad!

NT's having more obsessions and paranoia than us aspies do....sometimes I like to think that WE are the 'normal ones'.

Normal enough to realise that this is only 'power-starving' me out, so they get to piss me off, without having to say 'we don't want you here anymore, so get lost' I mean, what other explanation can there be?

We aspies often get accused of 'reading into things', but 99% of the time, it's bloody true anyway.

So, when does; 'It's better than living out on the street' become justification for asking me to freeze and stink? I'd do so either way.

Where do people get off with the 'It's far better than....' as an excuse or justification for their behaviour?

Yeah, it's better than topping myself or others....but only slightly.

...and by the way, just so people (NT's) know why we always 'make things up'...because they leave us absolutely no choice but to start drawing conclusions and assumptions through their actions.

So, my family is starting to 'tighten their belts' obviously cutting off some circulation to their brains in the process.

I say, 'okay, I am paying you guys $150/wk...so please and kindly tell me, what the hell does that money cover? what am I getting for my buck here?'

The family goes; 'your money goes towards 'household expenses' and what you are getting for your money is a place to stay temporarily'.

So, I go; 'yeah, 'household expenses' for everybody else but not for me'.

Let's try this another way dear brother and sister-in-law...

How much extra board and lodgings would you charge me for the luxury of having a small 800 watt heater in my room, a 25 watt light and taking a 5 minute shower every day? Name your price and I will pay it....it went down to -1 overnight and I only have a thin doona."

You know what they said? "that's not the point here....it's all about saving money". How the hell is me giving them more money to save not beneficial in this process?

So, what other conclusion can a person with Asperger's reach other than 'I am being both taken advantage of and being power-starved until leaving becomes my own decision to make'?

It's the only logical conclusion to make.

Cleaning shifts are blah... I much prefer working at the warehouse. It's a lot more straightforward, and the work pressure is curiously lower than at my cleaning job. :?

she didn't know how to present herself as to appear royal, regal.
it was the 1920's and she looked like she came straight from a scott pilgrim book.

Yet another installment from the 'sucks to be me' dept....

I needed a 'netbreak', so I just went inside the house to make myself a cup of coffee...I looked around, the kitchen was vacant, so I thought 'a-ha...perfect' and I walked in and put the jug on to boil.

When it was almost boiling (and I was distracted getting the coffee, milk and sugar) my niece and nephew came into the kitchen and filled the kettle to the brim with cold water.

I was like 'what are you doing with my coffee water'? they said 'we're making noodles, so you can just wait your turn'. I said 'yeah, but I was here FIRST' and they said 'yeah, but it's our HOUSE'.

That was fine, until they tried plugging both the kettle and the microwave into the same power board and they kept on blowing it.

I was like 'how many times have your parents told you not to do that? (I can count at least 4) it's either one appliance OR the other. The board cannot handle the load'.

Then my niece was all like: 'my parents never said that...you're so full of bulls***. I have always done it before and it has always worked and I'll PROVE it to you'

Then she keeps on resetting the board over and over.

Me: "Just knock it off!! ! the power-board isn't going to obey your will like people do and you're going to blow a fuse and put the whole house in darkness...then who'll get in the s*** for that? I will!....just give me the damn kettle and cord and I'll find another power socket and make my effing cup of coffee in PEACE and you can have the kettle back when I have finished with it, okay?"

Then, I got called a 'b***h' and I just said 'takes one to know one eh?' then went back into my little 'garage-room' with coffee in hand and now typing this.

Something to take our minds of the negative, though: a basking shark seeking the company of swimmers and kayakers off the Irish coast:

I don't know what Lorraine Kelly would've done had she been a vegetarian.

She certainly wouldn't have been able to stuff all that chicken in her mouth, that's for sure.

I boiled a duck egg for 6 minutes and let it stand a further 1 minute before opening it. It was perfectly soft and runny.

Benny is just like me. She's always sad and grumpy when it's cold. I can tell a cold spell is gone when her mood is happy and lively.

Got a little bit of that myself, I think. Met someone really cool with similar interests, but she doesn't seem to notice me. I 've been feeling miserable in general lately. Not a good feeling. here's hoping it gets better for both of us.
