6 hours later and the first blanket I washed is still dripping!

At least I can now switch cell phone carriers and pay at a cheaper rate...

I swear sometimes that The Stand (book and film) is just religious propaganda.

Do you know the strange thing about Special Interests?

It's almost like a magic spell.

I have NO IDEA IN HELL why I'm interested in Common/Indian Myna birds (Acridotheres tristis).

"The etymology of the scientific name is as follows:

Acridotheres: Greek akris, akrodos, a locust; theres, a hunter.
tristis: Latin tristis, sad, gloomy; Modern Latin tristis, dull-coloured).
"

The "Sad Locust Hunter"

Even I can see it's the weirdest thing but I JUST LOVE THEM!

Image

They've been around me all my life and I never noticed them and suddenly, they become my Special Interest and I'm walking around looking for them and listening to them sing. It's the weirdest thing.

I've been talking to my neighbor and I was telling him about them (as you do) and he knew people referred to them as "flying rats" (the bastards) but he didn't know you could teach them to talk.

Anyway, this is getting a bit long for Random I guess.

More about Mynas L8R!

:)

P.S.

The bird in the foreground has far more white on it's primaries than the usual Common Myna. The bird to the right is the usual!

After I became diagnosed (the second time), I decided to look into Asperger's Syndrome and it became blatantly obvious - undeniably obvious! :silent:

In my opinion, Bose QC 25 is not as good as QC15 in some ways. Its sound quality and battery life are inferior to those of QC15.

"Utes and Flatheads are generally peaceful critters.
Crows, they are fearful.
Mighty warriors too.
ln my opinion, the Crows are the handsomest lndians there is.
And proud too.
There ain't a man alive can match them on a horse. l've seen them on a dead run with one foot in the horse's rump...and one wrist through a loop in the horse's mane...shooting arrows and guns from under the horse's neck!

But they are the adulterous people. Adulterous."

IMHO, CEDAR does a better job of removing impulsive disturbances from phonograph recordings, than any other product.

I wish I had a crystal ball, so I'd know how financially secure I'll be this year.

Someone must have a serious problem if they can't tell bottles and cans from jars and tins. I got lucky today.

I suppose in past lives I'd be an actor or maybe a philosopher something, that is worthwhile still, I'm not complaining..

A few years ago, one explorer/adventurer named Ranulph Fiennes suffered severe frostbite in Antarctica.

When he got back to Britain, he learned that it was going to be several months before they could safely amputate his fingers to let some skin that was damaged, but still viable to grow. After a while, the pain got so bad that he used a power tool to amputate them himself.
