My salvaged steering rack works! Now I have one less thing that could turn my car into a fiery ball of death!

i was in my tutorial today and i spoke with the guy i speak to. he seems to want to talk to me. like after class it was assumed that we would leave together and if i wanted to, hang together and go with him to help him sort out enrolment. i like that clarity in intention. i am always so uncertain about these things. also it's friendly. and on the bus he offered to help me pick up a bed from an op shop in sutherland. he isnt perfect though. a little classist but compared to the racist friends i had before that and the racist/homophobic/sexist friends before that he is great.

the plumber also came over to fix the ceiling. my comrade was supposed to be the one up early and was supposed to open the door for him but she didnt. he woke me up at 7:30, i wasnt dressed, my hair was wild and knotted, i was in bright pink pjs that were 2 sizes too big for me, mis-matched socks which my pants were tucked into and i was wearing yellow and black leg warmers. i had morning breathe and i opened the door with my eyes closed because the light hurts. i can only imagine what i must have looked like. hehehe. he found that the source of the mould and crumbling ceiling was not the leak in the toilet- it was a hole in the roof letting in rain.

I was serenaded by a bag-piper today at work. Well, sort of. Some guy was waiting for the bus or something right outside the window in my office and all of a sudden, he broke out a set of bagpipes and played for a good 20 minutes or so. It was odd, but also pretty cool.

Today I got a new tarantula. Tarantulas are my current obsession. So far I have 5 but until now they have all been babies. The new one is an adult Grammostola rosea. She so pretty :)

I find tarantulas to be quite fascinating and have considered getting one for myself... but at the same time, I am absolutely terrified of them. I have no idea how it's possible to like something and be afraid of it at the same time. :?
