Yeah, thank you Booyakasha. :) Nice to see you here tonight (my night :) )

Thank you once again for my Myna bird masterpiece. I'm going to add some more to it tonight. :)

Yeah, the man across the road has been trying to get me to have these things we have here in Australia called Up And Go! I can't stomach it really.

Listen, I know what trouble you must have gone to to make the above post and I thank you. You're one of the nicest people I've met on WP in a long time and I've been on here a little while and I haven't even known you all that long! :) Thank you!

Oh no problem at all :) I just hope you start to feel better soon and find a way to stop losing even more weigh. But yeah, some can't stomach such foods...too bad, I liked the chocolate flavoured one.

And no problem about Myna Birds - I mean thanks to you I actually became aware of their existence!

if your food and sleep have been restricted for that long, and you are experiencing mainly aural anomalies, I would guess [from personal experience at least] that your brain is protesting with something called an acoustic migraine. yes, they do exist, they are the aural analogs of ocular migraines. the way to tell for sure, is to whistle a swept tone somewhere between 500 cycles per second and 2000 cycles per second [that is the most sensitive range of human hearing mechanism] and if you hear "wolf tones" somewhere in the middle of that range, that is a sure sign of an aural migraine. the only solution is to GO TO SLEEP but FIRST EAT SOMETHING with carbohydrates in it. then sleep. when you wake up, chances are it will be gone or greatly reduced.

Thank you auntblabby for your concern, I'm fine :)

I saw a general knowledge based quiz show on TV today. It was called Pointless.

The objective is apparently to score as few points as possible.

This is on the BBC, our "quality" station.

It didn't make me feel more optimistic about the future of this nation!

Maybe there'll be a political discussion show called Braindead or something in a few years time......

I really am a child inside, and I'm now 48 years old. I never grew up properly :(

Oh auntblabby, I hope you're right. Thank you. a) How do I get a "whistle that whistles a swept tone somewhere between 500 cycles per second and 2000 cycles per second"?

luckily, one's natural whistling frequency falls easily in that range, just whistle the lowest tone you can manage and then sweep it upwards in pitch until you can't whistle any shriller. in the middle of that sweep, if you have an aural migraine, in place of the whistle tone you will hear something weird- for some people they hear "birdies" and for others they hear a buzzing, and for others the tone just disappears and is replaced with a hum or a hiss. this is amenable to a mixture of caffeine, acetominiphen, aspirin OR ibuprofen, carbs, [NO ALCOHOL!! !] and shut-eye for at least an hour.

b) I can't sleep. Do you know when you're starting to go to sleep and your thoughts start to get a bit 'funny' and you realize, "Oh, I'm falling asleep!"? Well, for those nights, I'd never got to the 'funny' thinking part. I just lay there thinking about what's going on and thinking, "Am I ever going to get to sleep?"

you don't have to fall totally asleep, you can get many of the bennies of sleep by just lying still in a comfortable position, and not letting your brain think of anything, meditating on stillness and silence.

With the eating, I do worry about it and I try to get food to eat but when I go to eat it, the thought makes me sick. I used to LOVE KFC but now, even just walking past a greasy fish and chip shop makes me feel sick. It's at the point, people at work are trying to get me to eat. I've gone from 105kg (231.485 lbs) down to 65kg (143.3 lbs) through depression and anxiety over a space of about 7-8 months when I was in the psych hospital after I split up with my ex of 23 years and a 20 year old daughter.

luckily it is far easier to gain weight than lose it, take it from me! :lmao: I'm sorry that you had to suffer so. Image that was quite an ordeal. :o are you seeing a pdoc now?

They're getting a mental health plan set up for me and they're arranging for me to see a psychiatrist.

P.S.

I slept some last night and ate a bit of a sandwich this morning but I've got a headache.

Talked to a military recruiter today to get some information and to get set up to take the Asvab. My pretest that I took there placed me in the 91st percentile, so that's promising. Really starting to take the idea of dropping out of college and joining the military seriously, a lot less of a gamble really. I really doubt at this point I'll be able to finish college and then get a job.

if you are considering the military, it would be a GOOD idea if you got your degree first so you could go to OCS and get your commission. military service is MUCH nicer if you are an officer than if you are enlisted. trust me on this!

Except I don't really have any interest in becoming a commissioned officer, I hear they do administrative type stuff. I'm not exactly leader material yet. I'm interested in a more hands on approach I guess, maybe front lines, maybe not, but I could definitely do repair type stuff and other jobs. With a high asvab score it's basically my choice. I've been thinking about this for over a year now seriously and I really don't have the skill set to finish college right now. I'm about to implode. Base intelligence is definitely not enough. I intend to come back and finish afterwards or possibly do some online stuff while on active duty. I just know that college isn't working out for me anymore, I need a lifestyle change.
