i am too weak when it comes to animals. i have made friends with a male magpie over the last eight months and it got to the stage where he would hover in front of my window and then land on the patio expecting me to open the door and feed him.
he completely trusts me (i am not going to use the word "trusted" yet) and he even comes inside if i leave the door open.

his female companion is much less trusting of me and will not let me walk near her before she flies up into a tree.

he warbles at me (i know it is to me because he does it also when the female is not around) and i feel privileged that he is trying to talk to me even though i do not understand what he is saying (it is mutual , but he likes me to talk to him because i can tell by the way he moves when i talk to him). he started warbling once when he was inside my house and i was surprised how loud it was (in an enclosed environment).

i feed him steak strips (mince meat is not good because it clogs up their beaks and rots) and his favourite food is shredded parmesan cheese. (i am trying to keep everything in this post in the present tense). i do not feed him much because i am aware it is not a natural diet, and i see him and her browsing my lawns for worms and things most of the time and i only feed them at 6:30pm. i put out about 2 teaspoons of shredded parmesan and 4 steak strips.

yesterday while i was on my podium at the window (and on the phone), i heard a strange sound. it was like a "chik chik chik" sound and i told the person to hang on while i tried to locate the sound, and i saw the male magpie on the handrail near my window looking at me in a strange way. there were 2 steak strips and a small amount of parmesan cheese still on the verandah, and he had only flown in about 2 minutes before, so i wondered what he wanted. he usually lands on the rail to ask for food if there is none already there.

he had his mouth (beak) open a small way, and it was not hot (which is the only time i ever see birds with their beaks slightly open), and i never heard a magpie make that sound, so i wondered whether he was choking on something. the steak strips are about 2 mm wide and 10 mm long, so they could not choke him, and the parmesan was shredded and it also could not have choked him.

i wondered what to do, but then he flew up into his favourite branch of a tree nearby but he did not wipe his beak on it (as he always does). he then flew across the road and landed on some high wires, so i decided that he was not choking because the deoxygenation of his blood would have resulted in a loss of energy that would render his flight impossible. i relaxed (not completely) and took my eyes off him and continued the call.

later i worried that he may have been showing the symptoms of poisoning, or maybe he was having a heart attack because the way he looked at me indicated (to me) that he wanted me to do something for him, but all he likes to eat was already on the verandah.

i shelved my anxiety later on, but i was eager for him to turn up today and put my mind at ease. he did not turn up today.
i watched out the window for extended periods and he never came. usually, when he sees me at my window (before i see him), he will fly directly here, but not today.

i still was not distraught because there have been days where he does not show up in the past, but this afternoon i got another worrisome indication. his female mate turned up and sat in a branch and was chortling (not warbling (warbling indicates happiness and contentedness)), and she does not make vocalizations if her mate is not nearby. she seemed to be calling for him because she knows that my verandah is always visited by him at that time. he was nowhere and she looked with eagerness in every direction while she was chortling.

i am now very worried that i may have lost my best friend in the world. could the small amounts of cheese i fed him over the months have caused him to have had a heart attack? i checked many sites, but there is not much information.

i very much need to see him tomorrow or else i will be so sad that every other good thing in my life will be drowned out by the loss of my little friend.

i know no one else has ever interacted with him because he was very cautious to begin with, but he has let his guard down for me, and i value that trust more than anything else. he HAS to come back tomorrow to prove that my worry was needless.

sorry i could not be more concise, and i know the post after mine will not be related to my post, but words of comfort from people will not suffice to fill the hole in my heart that will be excavated if i do not see him tomorrow.

what i lack with regard to human bonding i more than make up with animal bonding.
Did he come back yet?

my friend in lebanon just pm-ed me to tell me the orthodox law passed! it's the most sectarian electoral reform law. it says that you can only vote for a politician from your religion, if you have no religion or have had it stricken from your id then you must vote for the religion you were last registered as being in and if you are from a minority religion you can vote for any religion of your choosing. what bullsh!t! bull. sh!t! as if the country wasn't divided anough already! this is so undemocratic. and my friend said there was a protest against this that he went to but it was completely blacked out by the media like it never happened! i'm furious. f#ck.

Divide and conquer my friend, the parasites will never have freedom and peace as a priority.

Freakin' monsters... and generating more to take over the world with their special brand of "join us or die" terrorism...

That sure puts my unhappy "tired all day" in perspective!

I haven't been paid yet - as well as meaning I can't go to the local autism meet that I've not been to for a while, I'm running out of food as well as gas for cooking, cleaning, etc...nothing better than going days without bathing and surviving on tinned soup. I'm worried in case I don't get paid as there's nothing I can do about it and I could be left with no money for weeks. I'm worried about getting my new benefits sorted out...especially as my electricity company now has a date to get a warrant to disconnect my electricity for non-payment (I'm willing to pay and have done all I can to pay but they refuse to set-up payments unless I telephone them, I can't use a telephone and they refuse to talk to anyone calling on my behalf).

Just the usual money worries, and I have a headache.

Waking up at 5:45.

Headache and tiredness due to waking up at 5:45.

Boss telling me I have to work overtime for 6 weeks.

Having to fill out govt gun forms due to govt and societal incompetence and ignorance.

Dad saying I shouldn't buy anymore guns.

Having to go to the bank to get tax money back. Why can't we do this crap online?

Now I feel bad about saying I'm unhappy to work overtime.

Can add that to the list too now.

My colleague asked me how to spell a word. She wasn't testing me or anything, but when I told her how to spell it, she used an online dictionary to check it. She didn't trust me. It frustrated me because I'm not uneducated like her. Not that I know everything, but when I don't know something, I will honestly say I don't know it. I can differentiate what I know from what I don't know.

A small piece of dental floss got stuck between the teeth and I can't get it out. I tried more pieces of dental floss to force that small cut piece out, but all the new ones that I tried cut off and didn't work. Now the teeth there feel very tight because that piece of dental floss is putting pressure on them and I feel very uncomfortable. What can I do?

i recently (about 3 months ago) had a young man knock on my door and he convinced me to change my electricity provider. i was not interested at first, but (this will elicit accusations of racism i suspect) he spoke in a very clear and normal australian accent, and he looked like a uni student working on the side.

he told me that the reason my previous electricity bills were so large ($400 or more for a quarter) was largely attributable to the fact that my bills were processed in india for a company of chinese origin.

i thought about the trouble i always had when i rang "origin energy" (my previous provider) to complain about errors concerning the tabulation of my bill. i was always answered by people with indian accents who were impossible to understand, and who did not care in the slightest at my displeasure that i tried to convey. they could not understand my dissemination of what i thought was incorrect about their bills (like the fact that they estimate my bill rather than read my meter). their accents were unintelligible to me, and my words made no sense to them because they only knew very few english words.

i decided to accept the young mans offer mostly because he told me that his organization "red energy" was wholly australian based, and if i rang to query things, i would be answered by an australian person who i could understand.

the day before yesterday i got my first electricity bill from "red energy", and it was outrageous. my bill was $732 for 3 months, and i have only one short shower per day and i rarely cook, and i use gas if i need to heat my home (which i do not need in summer(as it is now)). the only thing i have switched on most of the time is my computer and 4x18 watt energy saving light bulbs.

i rang "red energy" to interrogate them as to the components of my bill (expecting to have an australian answer my call), and i was answered by an indian person who was not at all interested in my plight!! !.

after 25 minutes of piped music and self aggrandizing advertisements...........

him: hello my name is khamal buggettybooby (????)
me: good afternoon. i am ringing with reference to my electricity bill.
him: (goes through the security questions to validate that i am who i am)
me: (provides the answers)

him: how can i help you?.

me: my bill does not seem to be correct. i was charged $732 for my quarterly bill, but my girlfriend who lives with her 4 brothers and mother and father who each have a shower every day and who cook every meal on their stove, and who all boil their kettle for coffee were charged only $367 for their bill. i have 1 short shower per day and and i usually get takeaway food and so i do not use the oven and i do not drink coffee so i do not boil the kettle. why is my bill so high?

him: i am sorry could you start again?

me : (i repeated everything)

him: according to our records, you owe owe $732 for your electricity. would you like to pay by credit card now?

me: no i am querying my bill!

him: the answer to your query is that the amount you need to pay is $732.

me: for gods sake!! i am asking how my bill was calculated!! !

him: it was calculated by your electricity usage.

me: so did a technician read my meter or was my bill estimated?

him: your bill is $732.

me: but i have just told you that a 6 person family pays half what i am being charged and i am just one person.

him: i am sorry. our records say that your bill is $732.

me: so there is no use talking to you? i guess that the only english you know is what you have been taught by your employers. is that correct?

him: i am sorry sir but our records indicate that your bill is $732.

me: my meter is in my backyard, and it is hard to find. do you have any information that suggests that my electricity usage was estimated or actually read from my meter?.

him: our records indicate that your bill is 732 dollars.

if i do not pay it i will have my electricity will be disconnected.

not only do the australian electricity providers use indians who will work for 12 hours for a bowl of rice (advantage number 1), but the second advantage is that the indians will only report like mindless automatons what they see on their screens to customers so there is no chance of mediation or discretion. it is a shocking state of affairs!!

i was duped because they sent a very australian looking and sounding salesman to me, and i was fooled into thinking that if i had a problem i would at least have someone i could talk to who cared if i rang them about a problem, and so i agreed to accept them as my suppliers of electricity.

i find it scary that many other people than me are suffering the same problem but they just lay down and die in the face of that obvious scam and pay.

i got a huge electricity bill the other day. i could not determine why it was so large.

i needed to have my fridge seals replaced
