i had class with a person i like and the first class of the day was cancelled which was good because i was an hour late to it. the electricity was also fixed today. apparently the wires in our house were so burnt out they looked like they had been on fire. my youthgroup also had screen printing workshops and i found a cool design i am trying to make into a shirt:
[img][800:675]http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/096/7/9/thawra_by_hamasna.jpg[/img]
i am only using the bit with the head and the arabic writting which says "revolution", "the liberation of egypt". i think thats how it's translated. i wonder if i can use this as my avatar. i hope my screen print works. i also hope the shirt fits me because they look really big and i now i am not as big as their size small shirts.

yesterday the Tasmanian parliament passed a bill through the lower house of parliament for same sex marriage. today i checked facebook and the activist group i belong to has made a facebook page for the protest against the Australian Christian Lobby(a homophobic and racist outfit) and Julia Gillard, our pm. there will be a national convergence on Canberra to protest their baloney so were all hopping on a bus and hauling our arses out there. my comrade had the fantasitc idea of naming it a "Pride Ride" as it is evocative of the Freedom Rides that highlighted racism against Aboriginals decades ago. it appealed to the romantics/militants in all of us. im so excited about this. it's on the 6th of october, one week before my birthday. the day after my birthday is a refugee rights rally. im so lucky to have it bookended by such awesome events. Pride Ride! it sounds so cool.

Went on an online shopping spree and made some nice purchases:

- A plush of Fionna from Adventure Time (I did not know that this existed before today, so I was freaking out when I saw it :D)
- A plush of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas (Been wanting one ever since Tim Burton movies became my special interest 2 1/2 years ago; finally found a good-sized one at a decent price)
- Girl with the Dragon Tattoo DVD (Rooney Mara version)

i was told yesterday that the queer space at uni was now accessible if you had the code so i went to check it out. it looks different because it was renovated in the last year. then a couple of people walked in. it was awkward at first, partly because a second before they walked in i was holding a lesbian sex manual that was on the shelf and had to drop it, move away and pretend i was reading something else but also because i didnt know what to do. we started talking and it turns out one of them was a comic book nerd and we started talking in comic book speak. geek-gasm. both of them are nerds but they're math/science nerds and im an arts/social sciences/geek nerd. also comic book nerd is also 1/4 lebanese and he's been to lebanon and speaks, reads and writes arabic and it turns out we were both in lebanon when israel attacked it way back when. i managed to make him think i could read arabic and he was shocked to learn i couldn't. so we literally and figuratively speak each others language. their politics are more right than left i think or at least centrist but we'll see. plus since they are engineering students i got to take the piss out of them for that.
and we had dinner together at uni and i was not coping well with the chilli(to say the least) in my food so when one of them noticed they went and got me water and napkins from the counter without me saying anything and the lady who worked there was really nice to me. when she noticed i was frothing at the mouth she refilled my soup bowl with mild stock to dilute the chilli and kept eyeing me as i ate to make sure i was ok and she also packaged my food when i didnt finish it so i could eat it later.
also i had an odd sensory experience which i found interesting if not random.

I'm no longer afraid to look at the new name of the person on the other site I go on (Because you can change names there). So it'll still remnd me of a member who mentions it in their location, but it's going to stay like that for the next 6 months.

Also, the person on another site said something about a picture of me in the pictue topic there instead of that box for talking in. And they said I was nice.

Right now I'm happy because there's an adorable black and white kitten in my lap named Speedy Petey and he likes to give me kisses.

My kitty likes to give me kisses, especially in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping and he wants to be fed.

He is nursing my finger now.

I've mended the sleeve holes in my Kinks T-shirt that I've made for myself three years ago, when I started being myself once again after 2 years of lies. All I have to do is bleach the underarms with some Oxy Clean spray. :)

The next time the logo starts to fade, I'll embroider it on. 8)
