I haven't had Twinkies or Ding Dongs since I was a child. I bought some, and found that each of them is about half the size they used to be. I confirmed this online, after thinking that maybe my memory was playing tricks on me. Just a clever marketing tactic, so they can say they're giving you 12 instead of 6. Well played, scumbags.

Not really a fan of the 20mm Lahti L-39.

Far too cumbersome for what you get out of it. Something like a 14.5mm PTRD-41 does the same thing [for the most part] whilst being somewhat handy. Especially when it's only really an anti-materiel and long range harassing rifle, so you'll need to displace quickly after several shots.

Not that I've used one. The only AT rifles in circulation where I live are the Boys .55 and Mauser 1918 13mm, and they're out of my price range when they show up.

That's one of their sneaky ways of deceiving people into believing that the prices haven't changed for years/that they are getting more etc. I noticed that many things get smaller and smaller gradually over the years. Instead of increasing the price, they give you less for the same price.

Watching a live feed of the World Hip Hop Dance Championships in the US, waiting for the Royal Family from NZ who are coming on soon. Feeling nervous and excited. Plus the All Blacks are playing tonight. Can't wait.

Yep, I found a whole website dedicated to this. Click that link and try not to get annoyed by what you see.

Greasing the packaging industry and using your 'free energy' to separate waste.
Why is the mob often tied to the garbage industry?

Beer is good for mental health especially when you watch movies.

Aww, the All Blacks lost tonight. Oh well, it's good for the Wallabies' confidence. Australia's, too, especially after what happened with the Ashes. :(

I've just learned the result of the Ashes series from your post, Murihiku!

No complaints about that, but it does say something about the way we Brits have been denied mainstream TV coverage of this historic event, unless we sign up to a subscription service.

End of rant.

Really? Do you not get the Ashes on free-to-air TV in the UK? Or is the series not that big of a deal over there any more?

That was pretty humiliating, though. It was all over the media here – all out for 60, and losing the fourth test by an innings. Not quite New Zealand's test record of all out for 26, but still difficult to take.

And in more rugby news over the weekend, not only did Australia beat the All Blacks, but Argentina beat the Springboks, too. I'm particularly glad for Argentina: they've tried so hard to get into top-level competition, and now they're well and truly mixing it with the best. Good on 'em.

This'll all make for an interesting Rugby World Cup this year.

We've not had live coverage of the Ashes, or any other Test Cricket series, for quite a few years now on free-to air TV. The BBC seems to be giving up the fight in many areas of sport. It's just lost the Open Golf as well, and Wimbledon will probably be next......

So much for me being the envy of the neighbourhood.

To find my nice new net curtains half cock at my widow this morning was beyond mortifying.

UPVC window frames? You can shove em!
