It's strange how we can know people without actually knowing them.
I was out food shopping today with my daughter, it's not often that I partake in such a mundane pursuit but I thought I'd help my daughter.
One of my favourite things in the world is to people watch and shopping was a great opportunity for me to do this today.
I told my daughter the whole life stories of two complete and utter random strangers. I would say that I wasn't all that far off the mark either.
One was a male. He was late twenties but still thought he was 16. he was trailing behind his girlfriend of a similar age and she was pushing a child in a buggy.
I told my daughter that they will have been together since they were about 16 and that is why he still thinks he's that age because that is where his life stopped because soon after they met they had there first child and he couldn't come to terms with his adulthood. I also told her that in the next few years he will cheat, she will find out, hit him around the head with her fake leather handbag and then she'll forgive him. they will live out their days doing low skilled jobs and claiming benefits and drinking indoors.
The other person was a woman. she was in her mid 50's and a divorcee. she had done a bit of silver service in her younger days in order to pay for dancing lessons. she had had admin jobs but nothing too challenging but just enough to give her a modicum of self respect and independence. she will have got divorced in her 40's, sold the family home and bought herself something smaller. she goes on holiday twice a year and is quite partial to a glass of white wine in an evenings.
So that's that anyway.
