Because their thyroid isn't functioning properly.

Irony is when autistic people start telling you to smile.

Well that was an accomplishment and a half (no, haven't got my rodent nemesis yet).

Dug out a stump that was probably half my weight on a hill with an axe and crowbar. That's hard mother ducking yacker (that's Oz for work) if I've ever seen it.

O, and a sorta cheapish folding knife came in the mail today that I ordered. Some Chinese made thing for Remington.

Looks ok for $20. 5" blade, with half of it serrated (so, good for cutting ropes, cords, lines and other binds); farm stuff (don't want to use a $150 knife for that work).

Probably a good knife to keep in the car in case of a crash and the seat belt becomes snagged or your shoes get wedged under the front panel if it's a decent crash, and you can't get your feet out without cutting the shoes off. You could break the tempered glass with it in the closed position too. I find it odd that lots of people that drive don't have something like this in their car (in addition to fire suppression devices and crowbars). But hey, I guess I'm a worrywart.

I bought a few very nice-looking boxes of foreign chocolate at BigW as it was on special. It was very disappointing. The chocolate was rough/powdery and the filling was just sweet and boring. I might give it to people at work without telling them that I'm giving it to them because it's of poor quality.

Day 11:

No sighting. Deep in the throes of sleeplessness last night, I swore I saw a shadow trailing a tail, but I have concluded that was just the shadows tormenting me (the shadows of what, indeed).

Perhaps my vigilance and constant watchful movements have annoyed said rodent enough to move on. But, am I ever that lucky? I note they do move on when their food source has dried up, and the food in the traps is obviously seen as dangerous (seriously, I'm constantly half tempted to get the chocolate out of them, so it's enticing to at least this mammal).

I wait still.

Elizabeth II is just DAYS away from beating her great-great-grandmother, Victoria, for longest reign on the British throne.

Meanwhile, today is the 300th anniversary of the death of King Louis XIV of France.

Yesterday I was a bit sick so I just took some rest, today I feel perfect. I have to catch up things that are supposed to be done by yesterday.

Life seems to be improving despite the fact that I've only got 0.39c in the bank, not a scrap of food in the cupboard and 1 week and 1 day to go before I get paid again.
But I always make sure my Boo has enough food, special dinners and litter to last him the fortnight.
