I'm sorry you have to live that way I know what it's like to live like trailer trash , not that you live in a trailer or I consider you as trash but I think you know what I mean

I wonder what that trailer costs these days , $150 a week even more :? (welcome to the land of the rip off)

It should be illegal .

 's'ok. i know what you mean. rent is impossible these days. $170 for room shares is average in sydney. i dont know how people are supposed to live, especially those reliant on the dole only. the below the poverty line dole.

i bought a bed today. it is simple, white and strong. the man at vinnies gave me the screw to fix it for free. i also found a lebanese coffee pot:

im quite happy about this. i dont drink coffee but i always use these to make hot chocolate and boil eggs. i didnt actually know how non-arabs did that without these pots till last year when i saw it done on tv. it was facinating to watch but looked impractical. i also found a 3 in 1 book of ursula le guins work.

i am happy about the fact that i no longer receive email notifications about updates to the "what made you unhappy today" thread.

i saw that thread today in my general board scan, and i noticed that i had no email notification of it, and when i clicked on it, the link at the bottom said "watch this post for replies" which indicates that the thread has been removed from my email notification list, so i did not activate the "watch this post for replies" link.

phew. every time i got a notification about that thread i had to think hard about what to say, and now i am relieved of that chore, but i am unhappy about not having the challenge of isolating what made me unhappy today and converting it to words, and i am more unhappy that i can not now find that thread to post that sentiment in.

"every cloud has a silver lining" they say, but silver is very much heavier than air, so clouds that have silver linings come crashing to the ground quickly.

what a depressing thought it is to think that EVERY cloud has a silver lining. some may see a potential profit in collecting the silver from the wreckage's of fallen clouds, but there would be so much silver that it's value would plummet to negligible.

you need to read The Left Hand of Darkness. it is the best. it's queer, it's feminist and ursula le guins work sometimes comes off as anarchist-y in general. but The Left Hand of Darkness. read it. it really is a thrilling book.

My wife wrote an article for Diabetic Health online magazine that did not meet their subscription criteria(too long and no pictures). They bought it for $50 anyway. She now has a paid publishing credit!

Well actually that crappy probably asbestos laden caraven cough cough was $120 a week in the early 90's so i think that figure would be closer to $200 a week these days ! where do people come up with this rubbish ?
I don't want check and to be 8O and find out it's true

In Switzerland you get 80 % * of your previous pay for 12 months 18 months in "high" unemployment areas. Not saying that should happen here but even right wing libertarians at one of the talk fests recently cant recall which one :? was urging government to raise it. Good god most people find a job after 12 months so be generous for that amount of time than they could go on the crappy social welfare payment if your still unemployed.(And in Switzerland it's as crappy as here on it)

*Imagine that earning 80k a year on the dole !
I think that when it cuts out.
