yesterday i went to youth group and did the last of the screen printing sessions and i only got one shirt done and a pillow case which was my tester but the youthworker said that i could come early to drop in on tuesday and do some more with her. they turned out pretty cool. the pillow case looks mad because it's blood red and the print of the man screaming and the words "Revolution", "The liberation of Egypt" go well with it because red is revolutionary. the other kid there says he really likes it too and wanted to know if he could use my screen print. i didnt get to make it in more than one colour though because it would have been too complex. im just gonna wear the shirt everywhere.
i also got me a second hand thermos with pictures of aliens and spaceships on it. it is metal blue and i think it's totally wicked. i can take soup to uni now. i hope it works.
i also walked past the newsagency this morning and the one of the broadsheets advertising the Australian newspaper informed me that this year has had the highest number of days lost to strike action in 8 years. im quite pleased with this. it has seemed like there has been strike after strike to celebrate of late. apparently the labour party is "blaming" state government. party of the working class my arse.
edit: i just read some good news from my country, lebanon. first off is that thanks to Helems campaign work a homophobic and sexist singer(he wrote a song about beating effeminate kids to teach them to behave like real men) has been banned from Canada and secondly Mashrou' Leila, my favourite alternative lebanese band, has cancelled their tour with the Redhot Chilli Peppers because the chilli peppers have refused to comply with the boycott, divestment and sanctioning of Israel and will be playing in israel. this is important as not just a statement against israeli apartheid but as a statement against pinkwashing seeing as the lead singer is gay. i love mashrou' leila. they're so awesome.
