Come here, seriously. I saw the hugest buck near the airport this evening 8O. He would have been as tall as you including the antlers.

In other news we have maniacally violent kangaroos here as well 8O

I'm guessing there's places down there that offer deer hunts on private land (property owners run herds). I'm also pretty sure there's no problems with train travel and firearms as long as they're in a case (never really looked that up, but I recall back to the law aspect of such and they said bus/train travel was fine in QLD as long as they were cased and in your possession). Train a little up north would probably be easier, though, as it's the same state. A bow would be way easier in regards to laws and regulations, but I'm not a good enough shot (probably because I shun sights/compound bows, and instinctive archery requires constant practice); of course, you can sneak within several yards, and that's something I'd do if the land was mine and it wasn't a trip based on harvesting something almost for certain.

They're magnificent looking critters; I saw one a few years back near a local town hanging around a cattle farm (I'm sure I posted such here). I plan on just taking a doe for meat, though. Cheaper, plus I don't really care for a trophy (I'm more of a food hunter). Some walk through here now and again.

The wallabies up here are aloof and distant (even though they come close to the house). They don't seem to be territorial; plenty of land for them, I guess. Out west, I think the kangaroos get a little stroppy. Now, Jerry the koala, I'm waiting for him to drop down on me with a war cry and attack.

I lied, one more:

Not even an uncle? From all I've seen (outside of the US, but other European derived countries), most people have seen firearms to some extent, even if shown by an uncle at a family gathering or something. I had an uncle, father and cousin interested in shooting here in Oz from a large extended family (this was before I was able to partake in it due to age), plus a couple of friend's parents. Perhaps it's changed a little here now that the laws have changed and many people couldn't be bothered going through with the paperwork and stuff; I think most other places are less strict, though (perhaps only the UK is stricter).

You in Asia?

Yeah, I live in South Korea and my uncle doesn't have any guns, even though he lives in the middle of mountain.

I'm sure my country has one of the most restrictive gun and drug policies in the developed world. Most women here die with never seeing guns and drugs but as most men should go through mandatory military training for about three years, most men handle guns pretty well but still no drug experience.

I have some fantasies in guns as my favorite movies are action movies though...hehe. :D

Thought so. Asia doesn't seem to have as much historical love for firearms as Europe (probably that whole frontiersman outlook when conquering far off parts of the world). IIRC, archery is big in South Korea, and that's pretty much the same thing as firearms when you get down to it, so you're probably not missing out.

Drugs are seriously overrated, though (ones other than booze and cigarettes, though I suppose you can include weed in that list). They don't bring out the best in people. But hey, I might be biased there.

Imageshack has turned trecherous.

^ I'm intrigued as to what that's about. I signed up with Imageshack last week, but only because the service I normally use had temporarily gone offline. Are these people dodgy or something? :?

^ Not sure what's happening there.
It was giving me the black screen of death this morning.
Then it wouldn't let me sign in (endless 'logging in' message)
Then it told me I don't exist.
Now it's giving me the 404 message so I refreshed and it took me straight back to the endless login again.
Checked the URL.
Seem to be going in circles.
Arrgh!
I want my images!

I wouldn't be too concerned about that. The site's probably just shut down for routine maintenance or something. I had a similar experience a few days ago with postimage.org, but it was business as usual the next day.

^ Just checked. Says the server's down. That's very unhelpful.

Join the club, and I'm 48. You may have missed a previous post of mine about not having a washing machine:

I've always been naive!
