Ah thanks Fluffy, chocs and flowers, I feel blessed.

It hasn't sunk in yet really, part of me is still on alert that it could be taken away.

I sometimes wonder if my slow process of allowing myself to feel that relief is because of ASD?

There are a few people I would like to thank for their support in this horrible ordeal.

You have been marvellous, as have others on here.

Congrats, Sweet Temeraire.

Does this mean you will get help around the house, as well as discount transportation and other things?

What does PIP mean?

Thanks Kraftie,

No I don't get any extras like discounted transport or parking, but I do get an extra payment to help me to get more services.

PIP means personal independence payments.

I only got a basic level payment so I don't get all the bells and whistles.

I am happy with getting something rather than nothing.

Do you envision a time when you'll be able to practice your profession full-time again?

I would fully understand if you feel this is not possible, though would be delighted if this was possible.

Pip pip, hooray!

I doubt the DWP would appreciate it though.

I've had some cracking chocolate. Specially dark chocolate. The supermarkets have some good stuff going on.

Where I come from they would say "It's better than a kick up the arse innit?"

I have no idea when I will be ready to practice again - I am just concentrating on my health and improvement.

I doubt I will ever be able to do anything full-time again.

Although, I haven't ruled out voluntary and part-time later on.

Same difference. As long as you can live life whilst mitigating your problems, it's alright.

Maybe this isn't the most appropriate thread to post the following question in, but I thought it best since the thread is specific to UK and England:

Do citizens of the UK receive benefits from the government if they are diagnosed with an ASD? If so, to what extent?

I'm both from and in the U.S. so I have no idea about this and I've been curious.

Thank you.
