The two new pics of me that I took myself. One of them's in the "Post a Pic of You!" thread.

Today my alarm clock's battery died, and I woke up 15 minutes after my programming exam had started. At first I thought of giving up and retiring the subject, but then I thought it better, picked up keys, money, and a pen, and went there ASAP. 30 minutes late to a 80-minute exam.

Finished it in the nick of time. Solved all of the main questions plus the bonus one, and it's very likely that all of my solutions were ok. And I can't believe how close I was to staying home... but now I've got that post-exam high I know I love :D

I finally got my fire cape in Runescape today. I thought I'd never be able to beat Jad because I'm too slow to prayer switch but I used a method so I didn't have to.

This isn't me but this is what it looks like.

I sold a bunch of games today, and I hadn't actually added up how much I should have got for them... and I got almost twice as much as I guessed it would add up to

Awesome :D If it's OK to ask I'm curious to know what your guess was and what the actual figure was?

Well... I was selling them to gamestop and had never really got all that much for games in the past even when selling in bulk like I did...

I guessed about $90ish (based on previous selling) and was paid $170... so I was way off >_>

It was a fair bit of games, but didn't seem more than the last time I sold... though this time I think I sold a bit of those "I don't like this game... but apparently most americans do" games :|

Oh... and it would have been $240 store credit... but I'm saving up for a new amplifier head at the moment and opted for cash :|

As a result of staying at school for an extra hour today, I found out that my AP Euro teacher likes Hetalia. :D

I finally got my wireless card working on my Linux desktop. Apparently, if your wireless card doesn't work on Linux, don't spend time trying to install firmware, just update the kernel and have a whole better system and a working wireless card. Now I'm finally off the dreaded Windoze laptop for my internet. For a while, since I moved stuff around, my Linux desktop was just a jukebox, not fun.

i sort of had an epiphany today. i was at parramatta for a palestine rally. we decided to have it there because the arab population is bigger and more likely to sympathise with the issue and i went to ask for directions to our meeting place from a random shop owner. he noticed my shirt which in arabic says "revolution: the liberation of egypt" and in arabic asks me if i am from egypt. i reply no, im lebanese. he responds very enthusiastically(ahlan wu sahlan!) because we're always happy to find somebody from our own country and then guessed i must be here for the palestine rally and very happily gave me directions. i never understood why but it just clicked with me why it made me happy too to find people who speak my language even though i mightnt necessarily like the person. its something we learned in my education class about ethnic identity and what shapes it: symbols, values and narratives. i dont really have any symbols and i never felt i shared the values of the middle class conservatives i was around but with ordinary arabs i guess i do share some values but more than that, we share history or stories- we get where the other came from. thats why people are happy to see people like them. this was important because i have been worried about loosing my culture since i moved away from home and outside of my family and family friends there are no arabs i am close to(not that i was close to my family). i was worried my culture would become eating our food.

also i went to woolworths today and they were selling 1.25 litres of pepsi for $1 which, in my sleep deprived state, i need to pull an all nighter. not as exciting as my epiphany.

Your gonna love me I'm thinking of going to Burma I want an out their experience , well away from the drunken Aussies

That rules out much of Sth East Asia

hrm going to immerse yourself in another culture is hard to do when people from the country you just left are all you find in the hotel you stay at. and at the tourist attractions. and the food places. and cultural events.

I'm done with my Saturday morning cleaning and now I'm ready to make my house a filthy mess for the rest of the week.
