^Oh, thank you! Well, you can say that, but I know that it's not worth getting upset when I can't find the darned camera, but I'm upset anyway...

You'll find the camera soon, I'm sure.

When I was your age, we actually had something called "film" which we had to load in the camera.

My mum says things like 'When I was your age...' a lot.
The problem is that I'm not sure if my mum took the camera with her when she went out since it's not anywhere it usually is. :? *sigh*

Things were radically different before the Internet.

When I was growing up, touch-tone phones cost extra. Most people had rotary phones.

When I was very little, phone numbers started with letters instead of numbers. My number was TW6-0321. That changed around the late 1960s.

My grandfather was born in 1900. I used to enjoy talking about the "old days" with my grandfather. He talked about how hot dogs used to be a nickel. When I was about nine, I could get a very large coke (I mean very large!) and a slice of pizza for 35 cents. It was a big deal when, in 1973, when a bottle of soda (what you call pop) went up to a quarter.

TW became 89. Thus my number became 896-0321 (we didn't dial the area code yet). 896 is still an exchange in Rego Park, Queens, New York.

You know, my phone number also has an interesting structure.
It goes something like this: abcabc/nmxxyy (m is 2 times n).

If I'm dialing the UK from the US, I'd have to add 01144, then dial the number.

For Canada, it's just the area code-number.

I wonder.
I like to wear adidas shoes. And I've noticed that I seem to get along with people who wear adidas shoes like me.
Why? Do people who wear adidas shoes tend to have certain personality characteristics that makes them prefer this brand over others?
Or is it something subconscious, like "we are in the same team because we are wearing same-colored shirts"...?
Hmm...

^I've never understood how a fair amount of NT girls and ladies are so obsessed over shoes and clothing! I just wear my favourite stuff since it's comfortable. If I could get away with it, I would probably not wear anything most of the time since I'm sensitive to fabrics and stuff.

When I was an insecure teen I got myself some adidas shoes and XXL hoodies (lol, not even cool). And then I realized that they are very comfortable so I continued to buy them.
Nowadays probably not gonna buy too many hoodies anymore, because they make me look like I'm 16. :P

Same here. Comfort wins every time.

When I was a kid around 6 or 7 years old, my Mum spent ages making this woolen school jumper for me but it was so scratchy, I refused to wear it. I still remember how horrible it was and haven't worn anything made out of that scratchy wool since. Also, scratchy blankets make me itch.

^that sounds really cozy, but in another way. my mom never knit me a sweater or anything like that, but she did knit one for our doggie. and helped me sew designs onto a scarf, once.

Phones still have letters under the numbers from #2 to #9.

Nowadays, those letters are used for many purposes.

In the old days, those letters were only used for phone numbers. That's why 8=T and 9=W.

You should try to find a phone book from the 1950s on the internet. You'll see letter-number combinations.
