You know what, kazan, you're right.
I've lived with having that bell around for most of my life and gotten used to have a neutral outside when I'm bothered by noise and unpleasant input, but on a locked-away level of myself, it's really painful.
And of course, being sleepy doesn't make it any less so.
Humph, I just wonder how many things I've learned to suppress my reaction to.
It's hard to say, because it's become so "normal" and automatic.
