Conversely, I've always preferred my own company. Perhaps that's why I've always preferred to be alone.

Self-reflection

I've never had a friend like that either.
I like to be alone.

Having said that, I made a friend last year who is rather wonderful.
She lives out in the bush and I spend the weekend out there sometimes, making fires and dancing around and cooking on the open flames.
It's great fun.
We think very much alike.
We don't give a flying foo-foo about conventions.
I've wondered sometimes if she might be an aspie.

But I'm still happy to go home and be alone.

That's nice Raleigh. It actually makes me wish I could find someone like that. But in my life, I've never found such a person.

I enjoy cooking on the open fire. I'd love to go 'bush' as you call it although 'bush' here in Australia usually means 'scrub' = horrible. Hot, dry, sandy, etc.

I'd like a friend out in the country.

Someone who is honest. Down to Earth. Natural.

Someone I can dance around the fire with. Tell jokes. Someone who's interested in what I'm interested in. But alas, I fear there is no one on this Earth that fits that bill!

It took me a long time to find this one!
I met her at a funeral, of all places.
So you never know...

I discovered the word 'catloaf' yesterday, which gave me much mirth.

It doesn't taste bad. It doesn't taste good either. But at least, it doesn't taste off though. I hope not. Week old minced beef. I hope it's alright. It's been sitting on my sink for the past week. I'm sure it's okay. It didn't smell too good raw but it seems and smells okay??? cooked!

8O It's been sitting out on your sink for a week?
Hope you cooked it really, really, really well.
The Indians put turmeric in their rotten meat to make it edible.

Bit late Raleigh. Maybe I'll scoff down a heap of turmeric now - sounds like the nutmeg thing I did.

Did you mean Native American Indians or Indian Indians (from India)?

The Punjabi kind (Indian Indians).
That's why a lot of their meat dishes contain turmeric.
It's an antibacterial.

Make some turmeric tea:
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp honey
Mix together, top up with boiling water.
Add some milk if you like.
I think it's yummy, but it'll also chase the bugs away.

Oh crap. I think I've poisoned myself. It did spend a bit of time in the fridge/freezer but I kept getting it out, meaning to have it and put it back. Got it out this morning and it's been a stinking friggin' hot day and it sat on the sink most of the day in the heat.

Oh well! I'll either wind up in Bankstown hospital or dead.

I guess this may be my Deathday!

I don't feel bad yet and it's been like 20 minutes since I ate it.

It hasn't been on the sink the whole time. Just most of it. I kept putting it back in the fridge and freezer when I changed my mind about having it.

It should be all right as long as it didn't get too warm.
It's a myth that you can't refreeze meat once it's thawed.

Well, I'm still alive and kicking.

Is that true? About being able to refreeze meat? I was hungry and I kept smelling it all the way through but I seem to be alright.

I went over a friend's place once (a Bangladeshi) (I had to fix his daughter's computer - There's a story in itself) and his wife left some raw chicken out on the table all day and it was a sticking F#cking hot day and I was thinking to myself, "God I hope we're not eating that today - God, I hope we're not eating that today" and sure enough, She cooked it and I had to eat it. It would have been rude not to because I told them how much I loved chicken - which was why they were having it. I just didn't realise, it was going to be left ALL DAY on the table in the heat!

I survived that!

So maybe, people exaggerate about the safety of food.

I know, a current affairs programs like to beat up food safety in restaurants/take away food joints but you rarely hear of people getting sick or dying.

Mind you, there was a Vietnamese bakery in the south side of Bankstown years ago who sold pork rolls to people and they all got Salmonella poisoning and some died in Bankstown hospital. It was the Pâté. They weren't refrigerating it.
