TL;DR version: After two years of surgeries, I have a disfigured butt!

Full version:

If I remember, this whole ordeal started in mid 2005 and lasted until early 2007.

Well aside from regular sicknesses and dental junk, the last big thing I dealt with was a pilonidal cyst. It's a nasty thing that can be caused by ingrown butt crack hair.

I noticed it when I happened to be getting tiny little blood stains in my pants, but they smelled like decay. Seriously; just like rotten meat. A look in the mirror showed that there was definitely a little hole there, about an inch above the one that should be back there. ;) For a while, I thought I must have cut myself somehow and waited a bit. Nothing changed. Finally I did some internet research and concluded that it was probably a pilonidal cyst. When I went to the doctor, sure enough, they confirmed it was.

I had surgery where they dug down pretty far and removed the foul thing; a chunk of abscess and who-knows-what about the size of a walnut. The first thing I remember when I "came to" on the operating table was my surgeon handing me the jar to show me.

All went well for a little while until I noticed that the area was bleeding again. Apparently, dissolving stitches don't dissolve in everybody  So, back I went. This time they just gave me tons of shots of anesthetic in the butt crack and went to work cutting the stitches and scar tissue out, much to my disgust. The feeling of the work being done nearly made me sick.

After that, still no success. My body was trying to heal it from the outside in, instead of the other way round. As a result, the wound kept healing and then re-opening. Next attempt: Cut the damn thing open again and do regular treatments with silver nitrate. To break it down, I had to have someone insert a stick containing a chemical cauterizing agent INTO the wound on a regular basis in order to kill the tissue that was trying to grow over it too fast. Yes, it felt just like someone sticking a soldering iron back there.

That was strike three, no success. Every time I went number two, the wound would be stressed enough to start dripping blood. While not dangerous, it was very unnerving. I decided to get another surgeon's opinion. With my previous surgeon, I was the only case in his 12 years that didn't heal right on the first try. The new surgeon suggested a Z-Plasty, which is basically where they pull tissue from one side to the other, horizontally, over the wound. The result is a Z-shaped stitching. This would distribute walking and other motion in a way that wouldn't be constantly trying to shear the wound open.

In the end, this fourth try did the trick. The only problem is that now I have a scar-covered "bridge" looking lump across the top of my butt crack. There's a divot at the top where the crack normally starts, then the "bridge,"and then the rest of the crack. It still has very little feeling and itches sometimes inside. Surprisingly, no girl I've been with has been put off by it. Also, It's a whole lot better than a festering wound!

Plastic surgery could probably restore my regular butt, but after all that nonsense there's no point to pushing my luck back there. It doesn't matter anyway.

Well, a few months ago i had a stress fracture in my second metatarsal on the left foot. I was out of work for almost two months... Then when i went back to work, my lower back started hurting really bad, so i had to go to physical therapy for a little while. My back was hurting a little bit again when i worked yesterday.. but i had today and have tomorrow off, so hopefully i can do some exercises and it'll feel better next time i'm at work. Other than all of that, i'm very often accidentally bumping into the corners of shelves at work, giving myself little scratches and bruises on my arms... So i have a couple of those scratches right now, but i usually have at least one.

The dentist says i have bad gums too but I don't really consider myself "suffering" from it because aside from going to the dentist and brushing my teeth, it doesn't really bother me.

Really? My gums are driving me crazy. There's this one tender spot that has a continuous dull ache, and I keep having to take Tylenol to manage the pain. It's really, really annoying. :?

That might be something to show a dentist. I had those symptoms for a while, and it turned out to be caused by a cavity that was almost deep enough to require a root canal.

Insomnia. My cortisol levels must be wacky.

Hand skin cracking and bleeding due to washing hands to much...

OH! When i was a little kid i used to get that all the time, because i was an obsessive hand-washer for awhile back then. One thing we found that reallllly helped with the cracking was to stop using antibacterial soap. It must have been some sort of allergy or sensitivity i had to it, but after i stopped using that my hands got better even when i was still washing them a lot. If you haven't already tried it, you might want to switch to a different type of hand soap for awhile and see if your hands are less cracked.

You're probably right about that. The pain is very concentrated in one area - none of my other gums hurt. The dentist did in fact tell me that I had a lot of cavities, including two that require root canals. I don't think he realized that one of them had already reached the nerves. I was originally going to go back in two weeks, but I'll have to make an appointment much sooner than that, because I don't think I can last much longer. The pain's bad enough that it wakes me up during sleep. It's driving me mad - and not in a good way.

I can't remember really. I have a chronic heart problem - that's flared up a little recently. I threw up January and May of 2009.

I have 2 chronic problems- MVP (mitral valve prolapse) and costochondritis. Most people don't know very much about these. Basically I need to watch what I eat and drink and limit exercise, Costochondritis is the worst because it's an inflammation of the cartilage around your ribcage. I pulled some muscles near there a few months back and it flared up, causing my MVP to flare up as well. They are interconnected.

Chronic ones are:

depression
anxiety
gastric ulcer
insomnia (except when I'm studying)
head and neck pain (due to my stupid job...occupational injury i would say)
and some random allergy to some random plants in Australia
