Despite all the advances with birth-control, teen pregnancy is on the rise. Instead of having poodles in purses like the rich women, teens have babies. I think the TV shows like 16 & Pregnant & these stupid talk-shows with 13year-old defiant girls talking about how they want a baby are responsible for the trend but the guy gets blamed even thou guys have less forms of birth control than women :x

BTW what are ugs :?:

There's a statistic that says in the US teen pregnancy rates have actually fallen since the 50's, the rates were a lot higher in that decade. But people weren't as open about it and it was still treated as a scandal in the family if a girl got pregnant.

Ugly, usually mis-worn, but they are sooo warm. And they're also the inspiration for the shape of the 2nd and 3rd generation Toyota Prius if you ask me...

I do know what you mean with bisexuals being the fad, they are often used to get attention especially online and I knew a friend online did that, there is also self harm, suicide, ADD and even Aspies and I find these annoying, wrong and offensive and gives them bad names.

Excessive swearing like 'Mother f***ing b8tches' or 'I have f***ing have too much f***ing homework!'

designer glasses with thick ear pieces.

I'm bisexual and have talked with other bi people in my area. The main reason bi people call themselves bi is because they don't see themselves as gay, nor do they see themselves as straight.

Definitely agree on excessive swearing and eyeglasses with thick frames.

Not to mention Crocs and Uggs.

Fads I'd like to go away...

* All the Dead Rising craze. Seriously, Dead Rising is a LOUSY zombie game! People make fun of Left 4 Dead, but at least it's actually scary and doesn't have ridiculas crap like cross-dressing and placing lego heads on zombies.

* All the recent Obama hate coming from conservatives determined to prove he's really an evil secret Muslim plotting to destroy our country's great democracy like all evil liberal beatnick commies.

* The poofy hairstyle for boys. I thought that hairstyle went away after the 70's? It was ugly back then and it's ugly now. I'm sorry if that sounds offensive, but nothing is attractive about a boy with messy hair bigger then his face. Especially when they wear those ski caps.

* Crappy remakes of good movies. Like the old saying: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!", it seems like every movie that comes out now is a remake. They're even remaking movies that aren't even that old like Nightmare on Elmstreet. Why can't they ever just make creative, original movies anymore?

* The 2012 nonsense. Everything I see on TV now is based on that half-baked theory about the world ending in 2012. I swear people who spread these rumors about the world ending need to be arrested. Some people actually believe this crap and commit suicide over it.

I think teen pregnancy rates in the U.S. were actually higher during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and have since decreased, only to see a slight increase in recent years.

According to Wikipedia:

Quote:
Teen pregnancies in the United States decreased 28% between 1990 and 2000, from 117 pregnancies per every 1,000 teens to 84 per 1,000. However, a 2007 report showed 3% increase in the teen birth rate from 2005 to 2006, to nearly 42 births per 1,000. Slightly more than half of Hispanic and black teen girls will become pregnant, and overall one in five teen girls will be pregnant at least once before they are 20. Asian-Americans have the lowest rate of teen pregnancy of any ethnic group. Of all girls, 16% will be teen mothers. 11% of all American babies are born to teen mothers.

And here's the article itself:

Yeah cell phones and constant texting. I don't have that many people who I need to be in instaneous contact with. More of the same with the social network sites.

I never understood why so many young people feel the need to broadcast their personal lives over the internet. All of the technology evangelists say that the world is becoming more connected than it has ever been. What about too much connectivity? I saw a recent OnStar commercial advertising their new Facebook app. It shows a guy drop a woman off at her house after their first date, and five minutes later as he's driving in the car he activates his OnStar and asks it to look up the woman's Facebook status update because he wants to know how she felt about him. Are people really that insecure?

Cell phones have become so distracting that they can put their users' lives in danger. People would get into car accidents when they were just talking on their phones, and then even more people got into accidents when texting caught around. And now we have these smart phones that can access the internet and play movies/TV shows. Yeah, this is not going to end well.

Ridiculously oversized purses, the kind that you can fit a good sized piece of luggage in.
I had a customer at my register once open her purse and proceeded to pull out yet another purse in which she kept her belongings in. Ridiculous!

Checks! Fine for paying bills but unnecessary when out and about. If you need to log your purchases, do that. But you don't need to write a check to track that. But, I do understand the desire for not having your purchases electronically monitored. And if that's you, write a check. But, Grandma... get with it!
