- A newspaper from September 24, 1991 that I found under attic floor boards while poking around; it speaks of the first president Bush warning Saddam Hussein that there might be more military intervention if Saddam keeps badmouthing the United Nations, and it mentions the Soviet Union, which was dissolved about three months later. It was apparently cloudy in Barendrecht in September 1991. There should be several, perhaps dozens more newspapers under those boards, as my parents had a subscription to that when they were renovating the house. More interesting, perhaps, is that they had a wall with electric fittings put in the attic in 1997-1998, yet apparently didn't change the floor in any way.
- A former Soviet Union navy hat which, for some reason, fits perfectly on a white teddy bear first dressed in baseball clothes that I've had since I was a baby.
- A lot of strange books. I wonder why my parents need a typed version of the Domesday Book with photographs or descriptions of locations mentioned in the book. I'd better ask them.
- In the tool shed, there seems to be, or have been, a ladies' bicycle from the 1960s that stayed there until last time I checked. Since the 1990s, I don't remember anyone using it.
- In that same tool shed, I found kites clearly meant for me but never given to me, and a lawnmower we still have even though we've replaced our lawn by stone and gravel years ago. There also seem to be enough materials to build a small shack, and enough chemicals and fireworks to wipe my house from the face of the earth. The fireworks are my fault - I usually buy too many fireworks, and I can only legally set them off one day a year.
- My father's study has some self-constructed miniature battlefields that he uses to display parts of battles from the time of Napoleon.
- There's access to a secret crawl space below the front door mat. It's large enough to fit a few adults, and only really contains some pipes and a lot of dead insects and occasionally some rodents. Perhaps we should start putting stuff there.
There must be some more, but I'd have to look for it. This place is a mess.

A pair of trilobite fossils I bought in cape cod (they look like fist sized wood lice made of stone).
I have one trilobite fossil. For some reason, I keep it in the car.
