I remember when you could go past the security machines at the airport and walk to the gate with your friend or loved ones and watch them take off in their plane or wait for them by the gate. I also remember the days when you could just go to the airport and watch planes land and take off or just eat at a restaurant there and watch the planes land and take off. My special ed class even did a field trip to the air port one time just to watch planes land and take off and walk around.

I remember when stores sold cassette tapes and laser discs and VHS tapes and CDs and then DVD came out and it was a small section of them in the aisle.

I remember when VH1 only played music videos and had Pop Up videos.

I remember when Nickelodeon only played in the day time and then it would end at 8 at night and turn into Nick at Nite. Then it extended to nine PM when I was in 5th grade and now it's 24 hours and there are different Nick channels now and so is Nick Jr and they also have their own channel now.

I remember when Nickelodeon always played their logo clips during commercials and in between programs and sometimes play a minute movie clip between TV shows or play music videos of the Nicktoons like Rugrats Rap.

I remember when every place had a payphone

I remember when TVs were boxed sets before they all became flat screen

I remember when people used head phones and CD players before ear buds and ipods and now they all use their phones

I remember when cell phones were big and were only used to talk on and they had a dial pad and a flap that opens.

I remember when my popular local radio station here would have the morning zoo and do crazy things on it and do crazy contests and do fake skits and do fake phone calls and there were actors on the other line and they even had song parodies and even had The Spice Boys and did their Spice Girls version of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer and they used their voices recordings in the song. That all ended when they said some word on the air and then the station was dead and then it was back on with an apology according to my husband. All of those radio announcers were fired. But according to my ex, they all quit working there and went to work at other stations because they were treated badly by their boss.

I remember if there was a song you liked, you had to wait for it to play again on the station for you to record it and when there was programs like Kaazah, you had to go on there download it and it would sometimes take weeks because of dial up.

I remember when you had to use dial up before DSL and when you had to have an antenna connected to your computer to get internet from the modem or a internet cord. I also remember when you had to have a card in your computer for internet for it to connect to the modem.

I remember when computers still used floppy disks and they always corrupted but yet mine never did at school but only at home.

I remember when the internet was filled with personal websites and message boards than forums and blogs.

I remember when it would take three minutes for a page to load online and that was normal and fast

I remember when cable boxes were big and when you had to pay for the Disney channel separately. We had it off and on throughout my childhood until we didn't have it at all because it got too expensive. Then we had it again in 6th grade but we only got it on one cable box and then it came to cable for real so we no longer had to pay for it because it came with cable now

I remember when we were allowed to have backyard fires to burn debris in our town and then they outlawed it but my town allows it, just not Clark County Washington because they have no burning zones which is the cities and large towns

I remember when Playstation game cases were big and tall until they were changed into CD sized cases

I remember when if you got stuck in a video game, you had to either call the hotline and be charged per minute or consult the player's guide book and had to figure out a way to defeat a boss or beating a level and figure out your own tricks. I did none of that stuff so I would just simply not like the game and never play it again. Echo the Dolphin got on my Do Not play List and Donald Duck Quakshot and Terminator 2 Judgment Day. If I couldn't make it past the first level, the game sucked so Beauty and the Beast was on my Do Not Play List too. The old times before youtube.

I remember when I would consult online walkthroughs to get through video games and having to try different guides if I couldn't understand the other one because it wasn't clear for me and having to read something over and over to try and understand it before there was youtube

I remember when youtube was only filled with personal videos and people talking to the cam and no TV shows or music videos

I remember when a $20.00 bill was enough money to completely fill up a car's gasoline tank at a service station.

Back in the old days , 1954-70 , a "krone ice cream" actually only cost a single krone , in fact Norwegians were upset in 1970 when they raised the price......now that same ice cream cost like 15-20 krones :p

Also watching Batman TAS and Rederiet in the 90s or sat toons in 80s , damn those were the days !

Soft drink had ring pulls that came right off!
It was a minefield to walk through all the sharp little bits of metal at concerts, etc.
How did anyone think that was a good idea? :x

I remember when people would get off work because the (mullet) fish were running! You could catch them from an abandoned pier that was falling apart.

My dad's car didn't have seat belts.
Just a strap in the back that you could put your hand through.
How weird it would feel now to travel in a car without being strapped in.

I remember when telephone companies used to advertise their local & long-distance calling plans & services on television, and they also promoted their "ten-ten" telephone number services, like "10-10-220", "10-10-321", and "10-10-345." I also remember collect call services advertised on television like 1-800-COLLECT & 1-800-CALL-ATT.

I remember when my mother had to walk around the corner to my gran's house to make a phone call.

I remember the original Thunderbirds TV series from the 60s. In fact... I only watched an episode a few days ago (in glorious colour) as I've got the whole lot on DVD... woohoo!
