Epiphany, 6th January, is the traditional end of the Christmas holiday and is the date on which we take down the tree and decorations. To do so earlier is thought to bring bad luck for the rest of the year. From the middle ages until the mid-nineteenth century, Twelfth Night was more popular than Christmas day, and even today some countries celebrate Epiphany as the most important day of the Christmas season.

Giant flames called prominences shoot out from the Sun's surfaces for 310,000 miles, more than the distance from Earth to the moon. The entire Earth could fit into one of these flames nearly 40 times.

In this 100g bag of cheese puffs there were 560 calories in total. And no, I did not eat the whole bag!

Carrots were originally purple. They only became orange in the 1600s when they were
bred that colour in Holland in appreciation of the Dutch Royal House in the province of
Orange.

Electric Christmas tree lights were first used in 1895. The idea for using electric Christmas lights came from an American, Ralph E. Morris. The new lights proved safer than the traditional candles.

The venom of the king cobra is so deadly that one gram of it can kill 150 people. Just to handle the substance can put one in a coma.

Kangaroo rats never drink water. Like their relatives the pocket mice, they carry their own water source within them, producing fluids from the food they eat and the air they breathe.

Hyenas are a female dominated society. The females are born with a large amount of testosterone are very aggressive and have the strongest jaw strength of any mammal, can even chew up the teeth of their prey.Young hyenas are born with teeth and use them to attack their siblings so they can get more milk from their mom.

I tasted seaweed for the first time tonight and it wasnt to bad.
