It seems the evidence being presented that it was not a hoax is because not enough people called it a hoax at the time. So apparently if a hoax is successful then it can not be a hoax.

To those who were kids when it took place, can you imagine being told in 1972 that going to the moon from that point forward would be infeasible all the way up to 2020?

That the only manned space action an adult born in the year 2000 would see is shuttles simply orbiting the earth?

Even though over 100 space shuttles have been launched, going to the moon after 1972 is basically an impossibility.

And apparently the only reason why no one has been able to get to the moon since 1972 is... it is just too darn expensive.

Seems just a tad fishy.

I know Ezra isn't on the site anymore so he isn't going to respond, but...

Why exactly does it seem any amount of "fishy"?

Why would we go back to the moon? What would make it worthwhile? Is there oil there? Is there iron ore? The moon doesn't even have a population of humans who could be potential slaves for us to exploit! And even if they did find oil how would get it back to earth? Build a quarter million mile long pipeline? Build space tankers that would use more fuel than they could bring back, and there is no way to dock them on earth anyway?

Yesterday afternoon around 4 o'clock (Dutch time) a Chinese thing seems to have landed on the moon. This unmanned vehicle is called "Chang'e 5", its older brothers the "Chang'e 3" and the "Chang'e 4" are also around there. "Chang'e 5" is ordered to take 2 kilograms lunar dust back to Earth.

Just like the Apollo, ik believe its true, but i am not sure. The picture is no real proof for me.

Why should it matter, especially if you have no interest in real science to begin with?

I believe that Neil Armstrong landed on the moon and walked on it.

If we did not get to the moon, and we went now, what would one expect to see when one gets there?

I would expect to see millions of moths and other insects.

This is my favourite conspiracy theory (not that I believe it).

It doesn't target ethnicities like anti-semitic conspiracy theories do.

It isn't harmful to the public such as the climate change/vaccine/alternative medicine type stuff.

It doesn't accuse innocent* individuals of a crime, like the Bush did 9/11 one or someone else killed Kennedy one.

It's just a harmless thought exercise. 'What if the moon landings were a hoax?' I suppose it's closest in type to the kind that take away credit from people who achieved something - this time Neil Armstrong etc rather than Shakespeare ('Who wrote Shakespeare?')

* of that particular thing

The moon landing has been doubted since it was shown.
It will ALWAYS be doubted.
Truly, it accomplished nothing.

Those who dishonestly deny that humans have been to the moon are risking a punch in the mouth from Buzz Aldrin.

Blao, right in the ignorance hole.
