I confess I once had a black medicinal leech as a pet. I kept it in a fish tank, and enjoyed watching it both creep around like a worm, and swim like an eel.

Good fortune,

- Icarus Feeds Leeches

I confess that I tried to make a poll and figured out that I couldn't figure out how to make a poll. I so stoopid.

I confess, Icarus, that your signature reminds me of this song by the Dave Matthews Band:

Quote:
Dancing Nancies

Could I have been
A parking lot attendant
Could I have been
A millionaire in Bel Air
Could I have been Lost somewhere in Paris
Could I have been
Your little brother
Could I have been
Anyone other than me
Could I have been
Anyone other than me
Could I have been
Anyone other than me
Could I have been
Anyone

He stands touch his hair his shoes untied
Tongue gaping stare
Could I have been a magnet for money?
Could I have been anyone other than me?

Twenty three and so tired of life
Such a shame to throw it all away
The images grow darker still
Could I have been anyone other than me? Then I

Look up at the sky
My mouth is open wide, lick and taste
What's the use in worrying, what's the use in hurrying
Turn, turn we almost become dizzy

I am who I am who I am who am I
Requesting some enlightenment
Could I have been anyone other than me?

Sing and dance I'll play for you tonight
And thrill at it all
Dark clouds may hang on me sometimes
But I'll work it out then I

Look up at the sky
My mouth is open wide, lick and taste
What's the use in worrying, what's the use in hurrying
Turn, turn we almost become dizzy

Falling out of a world of lies
Could I have been dancing nancy
Could I have been anyone other than me?

I confess that that song made me think of this one. Dave Matthews is a master at expressing the extistential angst that plagues those of us who are condemned to be forever in search of ourselves.

If I tell you I'm strong, will you play along?
If I tell you I'm strong, will you play along?
Or will you see I'm as insecure as anybody else?
It's like this
(scat singing)

If I follow along, does it mean I belong?
If I follow along, does it mean I belong?
If I follow along, does it mean I belong?
Or will I keep on feeling different from everybody else?
Right here

If I sing a song, will you sing along?

Good fortune,

- Icarus neither follows along, nor belongs

That's one of my favorite songs! I have the album and I saw Blue Man Group twice at the Luxor while I was in Las Vegas in 2002. It was one of the most euphoric experiences I've ever had in my life! I have a Blue Man poster right next to me right now! ^_^

I confess: after the second show, I knew I had to be touched by a Blue Man. I walked straight up to them and one reached out his hand and stroked my cheek.

Here is the evidence: photo

My stepbrother took that photo. I was in a daze.

Here is a less "special" looking picture from the same time frame: 'nother photo

Image

This is a moving sculpture used during the performance.

I caught one of Siegfried and Roy's tigers at the Mirage, looking silly.

Here is my favorite song from The Complex, with BMG and Tracy Bonham. I have it on my MP3 player all the time.

(Live. Warning: lots of flashing lights. Here is one with better sound, but it is a Kingdom Hearts AMV.)

Quote:
All I see is not for me.
What I want you have not got.

Tried to use things you sold me, no matter what the cost
Tried to go the way you told me, but each time, I got lost
The stairs didn’t lead me anywhere!

I’m taking the fire escape up to the roof.
Don’t care if it’s not the way you find the truth.

Time to make this right: to rise above
This room and all of you
Who say I should do like you would

Tried to live the life you sold me, no matter what the cost.
Tried to walk the way you told me, but each time I got lost
The stairs didn’t lead me anywhere!

I’m taking the fire escape up to the roof.
Don’t care if it’s not the way you find the truth

And when I get up that high, I don’t know what I’ll find
But I’d rather look at the sky than wonder why I let you take my time
Time to make this right: to rise above.

 I confess that I appreciate you saying so, brother. But, as I've told gwenevyn before, any awesomness you might preceive comes from her, and her alone. I am but a funhouse mirror; a shiny thing that reflects and amplifies any light cast upon it, but has no inherant light of its own. Any time I might seem to shine, it is simply a reflection of those around me; look for the source, it is always there. And I love to reflect the light of those around me, especially gwenevyn's, though I know not why (probably because her's is soooo bright 8) ). Such is my nature; and such is the way of things; people often think it is "false humilitiy" when I say this, but is just the way things are.

BTW, are you going to be one of our new mods, or what? I hope so... [Is there going to be a vote? I'll vote for you. ]

Good fortune,

- Icarus the Palantir

I confess that I'm trying to make my lack of a life into my life.

I confess that I only read directions as a final, final resort. Which is pretty bad, because I basically write instructions for a living. But I confess that I love to figure things out on my own, and even have a knack for doing so.

Good fortune,

I confess I have a feeling that this year will be by far the best in my life so far... it's the only year in my life where I haven't started out as naive but more able... I look back and I feel happy about how I've become.

I confess that a local homeless man died.
He was always around the store where I go or the library and was always clean and dignified and used to be a businessman.
He just wasted away. Died of liver cancer. I confess that even tho I only spoke to him once, in the last days he was around, I feel saddened and regret I didn't talk to him more.
