I went to petsmart today to help pick up my mothers dog after helping her clean her office because she dislocated a rib somehow. I saw a 6 month old black female cat/kitten? named Storm that got abandoned in a snow storm. I've fallen in love. I think I might actually get her. I need something like that in my life I think in lieu of a relationship. I'd have to take her with me back to college in the fall though and that could pose challenges. Time to research pet friendly apartments.

Aw, I hope Storm gets a human! (And of course we'll all expect pictures!)
I know I am always happier when I have a kitty (or two), so it sounds like a great idea.

I like cats too. Unfortunately, I have allergies towards most breeds.

So I am thinking about getting a dog to help with my depression, it'll be a therapy dog of sorts but I can't afford one of those so it'll be unofficial for anxiety and companionship, any thoughts?

Yes having a dog is great and have had mine 2.5 years and he lights up my life. 8)

Mmm...chocolate.

Melted on edible things.

As opposed to melted on inedible things.

Although that could work too.

There's a hole in the world like a big black pit,
And it's filled with people who are filled with s**t,
And the vermin of the world inhabit it.

dcj123, do you have a calming album you can listen too? Or any other soothing technique that's helped in the past that you can try?

^Or how about pets? Do you have any of those? I often find interaction with a pet helps me feel better.

^ He recently asked about getting a dog, so I would assume he doesn't have a pet currently, but a stuffed animal or other soft comfort object can be nice.

If you're hyperventilating: pour your focus into slowing down your breathing and heart rate.

Right. I'm just really scatterbrained right now.

Yeah I don't know I got music going and I think I am ok I don't know,

Not much to talk about AuroraBorealisGazer and Kenya, I just don't belong in this world and can't make or keep friends. I feel like I get closer to suicide everyday. I have Therapy in the morning and I am thinking about just losing it to my therapist and maybe if I am lucky their lock me up for good. I can't function on my own, its evident.

I do not have a pet, I had some fish but they died, they last a little bit though so I think I took care of this fish tank at least partial ok.

If you believe that your therapist will be able to help you, I suggest that you try to hold on until then. Acknowledging that you need help is the first step towards recovery. Hang in there, man.
