He's a sweet hacker.

He leaves you messages on your computer, or through WP? I think I'd be worried that he was accessing my webcam or something.

We're quite friendly now.
It sounds very serious, not laughable in the least.
Mods should check this out for the sake of other users.

I had to report this post for the sake of other users on WP.

I'm quite tempted to make a folder on my computer labeled "passwords" and then just fill it with a bunch of pictures of Nicolas Cage.

Just when I thought it wasn't going to happen, it starts snowing. Which is alright for now, it looks nice and everything, but by tomorrow, the snow will be dirty and unpleasant, and then it will get even worse when it inevitably melts. And I hope it doesn’t stop me or anyone else from getting into town where we have our university course.

If snow didn’t get dirty or melt, instead disappearing when it got too warm or melted more quickly, then that would be much nicer.

I think this would be a good idea.

I won't be changing to the trippy side any time soon. I think I'll stay a 60s Mod for many years to come.

I used to keep a ("folder") subdirectory called viruses - I used to collect them. It was always fun to update a virus detection's signature file and run a virus scan over that directory and see how many it picked up.

By the way, have you ever heard of the EICAR test virus:

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

It's not a real virus but you can use it to test your virus scanner.

Stick it in a directory. Stick it in a compressed file. Stick it where you like (no rudeness intended) on your computer and run a virus scan.

If your virus scanner is good enough, it shouldn't even let you copy it.

Please don't panic.
I realise now I probably shouldn't have written that like I did.
I actually know this hacker quite well.

P.S.
What's Nicolas Cage got to do with passwords? Why him?

There are:
* White Hats
* Grey Hats (that's me)
* Black Hats

Not all hackers are bad. Most just want to learn and test out their skills.

I'm not worried at all actually. I'm like 90% sure I know which user it is even. If you trust them that's good enough for me.

Nothing really, it's just a meme type joke, I'd put random pictures of nick cage on my friends laptops if they ever left them unguarded.

Do you ever find out that someone knows about something you also know about but doesn't know you know about it and you can't help but think "If only they knew?" because they either won't believe you or will be very surprised, or both?

I got the idea to record myself to see how my behaviors/mannerisms appear to others....well it turned into a goof off session of twirling around and dorky dancing. :batman: :mrgreen:
Now I am watching them and laughing at myself while my cat gives me weird looks.

Anyone who hacked my computer would be treated to some serious Oliver Sykes overload.

That would be rather cool to learn how to be a hacker. I've played around with aircrack-ng a bit a few years ago and thought it was fun.

Yes, I have absolutely experienced this.
