Nope. I thought about that when I posted it. I know you guys call it Hoovering (after the company name) - I was going to say Hoover (for your sake) but I thought, "Bugger it. You'll understand what I mean."

Apparently a mouse found its way into my cars interior. At least it had the decency to do its business inside the plastic cup on my seat and not on the seat.

If I recall correctly, dragonflies like to bite. The worst thing that got into mine was a wasp 8O

I heard a story once about a man who ran over a deer.
It was unconscious but still alive so he stuck it in the back of his car. As he was driving along, it woke up and bit him in the neck.

He got out of the car to call emergency services and whilst he was on the phone, a dog attacked him and bit him on the leg.
And he's asking the emergency services receptionist, "Who get's the deer? Me or the dog?"

Americans don't call it Hoovering, either. We call it Vacuuming, like you guys.

Only Brits seem to call it Hoovering.

Really? I thought you did.

Sidewalk = footpath
Ketchup = tomato sauce
Hood = bonnet
Couch = lounge
Dog = dog (same - joke :)


Although, I've got to admit, a lot of our kids are using more American terms now. Probably due to TV, Internet, etc.

Sometimes we call a couch a "sofa."

Rarely, in the north part of the US and Canada, it's even called a "Davenport."

We have tomato sauce, too. It's pretty much the same as something like "Ragu Spaghetti Sauce."

Sometimes, in parts of America, a sidewalk is called a "pavement."

My Irish heritage is kicking in.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time.

It's called Na Laetha Geal M'óige (The Bright Days Of My Youth)

It's in Gaelic, so you might not understand much of the lyrics but it's Beautiful and if you understood the lyrics... Well:

I want this played at my funeral (if I ever have one):
