^ I'm lucky. I work for the Government and they're a very fair EEO (Equal Employment) Organisation. Having said that, harassment does still go on and it's a very much "not what you know but who you know" kind of setup.

I'd practically have to kill another employee to get fired (or take drugs).

I've never been given a warning or a formal talk but I know of people who have and you should ALWAYS have someone else there. Just to keep things fair.

Even our phones are bugged and all of our activities on the computer are monitored.

It's your decision - if you disclose or not - you know what you're comfortable with.

I had a horrible situation where I disclosed, then one of my supervisors called me in to a meeting and basically told me I was incompetent because I have ASD and I would lose my position.

I had to go through a whole reporting process and countless meetings with her supervisor to get her to show evidence of my 'incompetence', of which there was none.

Maybe I shouldn't have disclosed but if I had had those accomodations in place earlier that situation wouldn't have happened.

I work for the government too.
Discrimination is rife.
It will be swept under the carpet and you must shut up about it or you'll be shipped elsewhere.

Yes, they all say they are an EEO, but most of them find ways around it.

I believe my manager will be in the meeting with me, (she used to work in a special needs school and may understand me better than most) so I think I'll have some support there. I just wish I knew what questions they had that they can't ask through email.

I heard a girl say that when she was a Study Abroad student in Costa Rica, she was lonely and depressed because she didn't have any friends for a couple weeks. It took all my strength not to laugh my ass off. I routinely go entire semesters without friends.

But I don't wanna miss work.
