Largest pistol I shot was a Taurus Raging Bull in .44 Magnum that the club had. Looked like an 8" barrel IIRC.

Muzzle blast was the most noticeable thing. You felt the concussion smacking into your chest, and since the range was indoors with those hard plastic stall walls, that just added to the noise and blast.

I owned a Colt Government Model Series 70 1911 in .45 auto, as well as the Glock 21 in .45 auto; recoil and blast of those were quite mild. No more than a 9mm or hot .38 Special, which makes sense as they're all around the same energy figures. .40 cal wasn't much different to those either. .357 Magnum was the next up in recoil and blast, which seemed about half that of the .44 Magnum. Albeit, .357 seems about as loud as the .44 Magnum.

I have a .44 Magnum rifle now. It's a pussycat due to the added weight and barrel length.

Yeah, the Smith 686 is a good gun. I fired the club's (I rented pretty much everything they had).

Check out Nashville guys, I am completely snowed in, I have watched several people screw the pooch on that street next to my apartment, Downtown is out my other window. While I am very close to Downtown (Most am downtown) I couldn't even see any buildings off in that direction this morning, it was totally white. I can see some of the buildings now kinda, I see another apartment building which is the start of Nashville skyline I guess, I am on the edge of it.

Oh, in answer to your question about how Americans see Australians:
I don't think any would think of them as primitive. It seems like most view them just as other countries view us Americans; always at the beach, getting tan. And then there are those who probably think it's just like Outback Steakhouse .
When I lived in Ireland, I got some pretty strange questions about America. My roommate once asked me if every American has a fondue pot . Hahaha, I don't know where he got this idea! (<--- We don't, by the way)

O, and yes, po po carries Glock Model 22s here, so I got what you meant. I think 23s too for those with smaller hands (women mainly); well, it looks like there's 2 different sizes when I've checked out the various officers at the shops and stations. The smaller ones don't look as small as the 27s that the detectives carry. So, that leaves 23s.

Well you can always hide in a cabinet

There is actually a funny story behind that comment, when I was about 10 years old I hide in the cabinet during a family argument and when it broke off my family couldn't find me for what seemed like forever. I finally came out and was chilling in dinner room, I don't think they ever knew where I went. Also I guess somethings never change cause I was in someone house that I shouldn't have really been in and the cops raiding the place and I hide under the sink. They also didn't find me though I slipped out the back door when they were upstairs. Thank god I am somewhat of a small person

^^Each word is an entire phrase or sentence, so a translation could take awhile. It's a song of love and light and peace, and also the song that created Mythaven. I'm almost done writing the whole thing!

Thats why I am (mostly) a law bidding citizen now, I relapse every now and than but looking back on my past, I seriously don't know how I lived the lifestyle I lived. If I did some of the things I used to do now, I would have a nervous breakdown. Drugs where the only way I could have done some of that stuff, though I don't regret it cause I would not have survived homelessness without drugs. I don't think their was a day on the street or in a shelter when I wasn't totally baked. They served their purpose but its time to get off drugs now since I am not in that environment. I don't really regret anything I've done, no one can judge me cause no one has walked in my shoes, I was dealt a bad deck of cards and I did the best I could with what I had. I am not trying to appear gangster or badass when I talk about this stuff, its just true and something I have to live with. It bothers me at times but I know others would probably not have survived in my shoes.
