I think the healthy lifestyles craze has gotten a notch too far. I remember back in the early 80s when the only thing advertised was The Canada Food Guide showing people doing simple exercising like swimming, running, biking and hiking. Nowadays they advertise diet pills, Nutrisystem, Slim-Fast, Weight Watchers, Pro-biotic youghurt, gluten free bread, dairy free milk, diet soft drinks and Bowflex machines with unnaturally fit bodies that are probably photo shopped. Arrogant perfectionists showing off their perfect bodies. I don't want that Bowflex climber anymore. After talking to my mum on the phone last night, I'm going to walk and follow the Canada Food Guide like people did in 1981. The weight will come off in it's own good time. If it doesn't, than I'll still be much healthier for it.
Yeah it's become a bit crazy. Nowadays it's up to the individual person to evaluate what's a fair thing to do and what's crazy or to get money from their wallet.
Although I have to say, gluten-free bread is a good thing every once in a while.
If you can't/won't eat gluten you can really start to miss a good slice of bread.
