In my culture, "pointing the bone" at someone means wishing them dead through terror.
I don't see how you could joke about that.

Where I grew up, we always just took it as a superstition. - I learned it through Skippy, the bush Kangaroo after all. One episode. And it's just something people regarded as non-serious.
