Life's pretty peachy now though.
I've finally reached a stage where I'm relatively happy. I'm meditating again. Mindfulness etc. Blah ba blah ba blah. All that stuff.
This is the happiest I've been in a long time but it doesn't make the past any less sad. It's just when I think about it, it still makes me sad. That's to be expected.
It's just that I feel I've dealt with it and moved on.

That's true. I never though about it that way.
All I can say is I'm glad it exists, otherwise, I wouldn't have had the chance to meet some of the most wonderful, caring people I've ever met in my life -

Oooh back to my word gaff last night (which I didn't see until this morning):
I remember in middle school a British girl transferred to us and I shared a few classes with her. So one day in class she was writing in pencil and needed to erase an error, but her eraser wasn't working. So she turned to the boy next to her and asked if he had a rubber. 
She wasn't quiet, so everyone heard and either gasped or started laughing wildly. She was so confused!
(for those that don't know: in the UK a rubber is an eraser, but in the US it's a condom).

In Australia, we call an eraser a rubber but we are aware if the overseas implication.
Do you know, what you Americans call a fanny (bum), has a completely different (literally opposite) meaning here in Australia. Every time I hear of an American talking about their fanny pack, I cringe!
