Tell me about it!

It's a long flight....but you could fly to New York, then fly to Denver, then rent a car and drive up into Wyoming and Montana (or you could stay in Colorado!)

When I was younger, I used to work at Dick Smith Electronics and I once had a customer who asked if we sold a printer that printed at the speed of light. I told him, I don't think they've invented them yet!

Another guy had neighbours who used to prank him by pressing his door bell at all hours of the night and run off - and he wanted to know if we sold exploding door bells.

LOL - Humans are W I E R D ! ! !

I find that obnoxious: some jerk ringing my doorbell, then running.

I don't bother answering the door, unless I'm expecting somebody.

The Jehovah's Witnesses are usually okay people--but they like to knock on doors at inopportune times.

How hard do you think it would be for an Aussie to get lost in your society, not get noticed and just LIVE - I'd have no greencard. No income (unless I found someone prepared to pay cash in hand)

What are the chances of being 'absorbed' in your society without being caught, detected?

I can put on a really great American accent. Perhaps I'll just pretend to be mute!

Fingerprints and facial recognition will probably give me away though.

I need to swap identities with an American who looks like me and wants to be Australian!

My Mother will be dead soon and there will be nothing left here holding me back. I'd just like to go where I've always felt I belonged all my life - America - and just live out my life peacefully.

I've never met a person who has any sort of prejudice against Aussies.

I think you'd do fine in America.

Don't forget: "No worries" has become fully absorbed into the American vernacular.

It's 3.40 am and I'm still awake. Slowly creeping back into old habits.

The law may take a different stance on that one Kraftie.

Here in Australia, if we found illegals, we'd stick them in detention until we deported them - but they went with everything they came with. Money etc.

In the US, if you're caught illegal, they take all of your money off of you except for $50 and send you on your merry way!

There are some woman who are fascinated by Aussies. Right after "Crocodile Dundee," many women seemed to like Paul Hogan.

Obviously, this is a long shot--but, who knows, maybe you'll meet some asexual yet romantic woman from Casper, Wyoming!

Email response about someone who panicked and said not to open
emails because a virus is going around...

Should I email him back and ask if it's OK to open email yet?
Or will he get upset because I opened HIS email?
Or is this the "do not open any email EVER" virus email hoax?

I wish I didn't have to sleep. Sleep is a waste of time.

In the old days of Outlook Express, we had scripts that used to deploy viruses by "forcing" the preview window open and the virus would run.

These days' it's not so easy.

A lot of files (exe, bat, com etc) are quite often disguised as word documents Excel files (e.g "Youve Got to See This Spreadsheet.xls.exe")

Most people just see the xls and think it's just a spreadsheet but in actual fact, it's an exe and they can be DEADLY to your computer.


If you don't know him, DON'T respond - If you do, then he'll know you exist.

If you don't need it - If you didn't request it - THEN DON'T RESPOND - DROP IT!! ! Like a hot stone!

Old Comedywriter - I'd have thought he was okay - but still, it sounds suspicious. Did you do him some wrong?

Perhaps that's just his way of writing.

Did you request a file from him? He is a member after all!

But besides all that, even if someone has no malicious intent, if their computer is infected, they can spread an infection to you, inadvertently
