Can I ask you a personal question?

What does it mean that you were Independently re-diagnosed 2013? I am curious cause my diagnosis is from 2006 and I have since been labelled everything. How do you go about getting re-diagnosed? My doctor doesn't seem to think I am very autistic but my therapist does, should I get a new doctor who is on board or what?

I was originally diagnosed in 2007 when I was sent by work to see some top notch, big wig Psychiatrist for depression. He picked it up inadvertently.

When I found out it was a form of Autism, I just wrote him off as crazy and forgot about the diagnosis.

Then in 2013, I was in a psych hospital for depression and saw a completely different, unrelated Psychiatrist (who knew nothing of the diagnosis 6 years before) who saw me 3 times a week for 6 months. He knew me as well as I know me. He had no knowledge of the previous diagnosis and when he diagnosed me as having "Aspergers", I though, there must be something in it. So I did my own research - I'm a classic Aspie - Active But Odd!

I love house too but I lost interest in the show after season one for some reason.

Both times, I wasn't out for a diagnosis. It was picked up by accident.

The first time, I didn't even know what Aspergers was. I'd heard of it but I had no idea what it was until I looked it up.

When I finally bothered to read the description, I though, "Yep, that's me!" So did everyone else.

It was similar for me (it was initiated by my parents). I thought the doctor was full of crap when he told me. I still think he was a complete idiot, he just happened to stumble upon the right diagnosis. (I was in denial for 13 years ).


And now I am off to re-introduce my head to a pillow.

I really should change my username. It turns out that I'm not a Cockney anything after all. Unknown.....Schultz. Unknown Soldier my ass. The Unknown Soldier was shot in the Vietnam war. You are a German. Don't give me any of that Spirit Nationality stuff either. Sometimes your heritage can override your nationality. You were born in Canada, but do you really act it? Do you think you'd even be able to act like a Canadian? Go tell your parents what a German you are right now. Especially your Anglo-Canadian father. Let the truth out.
