I think that's the first time I've heard someone trying to put on an Aussie accent.

He might think he does it well, just like I think I do a good Irish or American accent but it was terrible. True Aussies could spot that as fake a million miles away.

It makes me wonder if my impersonation of an American would sound convincing to Americans... I suspect not.
