^ I did look at some of the posts as a visitor yesterday.

Now I am wondering if I have the time to get involved in more forums when I am trying to reduce my time here to do more active tasks and interests.

My concern is I will overdo it and my eyeballs will explode.

(Irlens syndrome etc and other sensitivities hurt my head and exhaust me)

Not sure how that would help on forums?

I am back and forth all over the place, skimming through different threads and changing themes quickly.

I would still have to use my eyes to see what I want to read? Does this make sense?

I tried dictating my essay work a while ago and it was so frustrating and a disaster.

Perhaps it would be good for me to try again with a different app?

Even finding the right headphones was a nightmare.

No eyes needed - the voice software would do everything. It would translate everything. It wouldn't do text in images, but that's a problem across the board.

I can help. See here. Or get a Mac. The screen readers on there are built-in.

If it really hurts, get someone to read to you as a stopgap.

You can thank me later. Sort your eye comfort out first. :-)

JAWS costs money for Windows unfortunately. With the Mac it's built-in to the OS.

I should point out that I myself am partially sighted and suffer from exotropia, although not Irlen syndrome.

I was told to use Dragon software when I was at college a couple of years ago.

It would be very handy to dictate notes and for those who get along with it.

I tried one which came with the laptop and found that my headphones got on my nerves and I was too slow for the program when thinking what to say. I just got so frustrated - but it wasn't the dragon version.

My writing went a little like this:

"Once upon a time there was a princess sop no I said shop no I said f**king stomp oh I give up with this s**t."
