Hey, I just had a thought. Do you think WP is all of our Special Interest?

I know Aspergers/Autism is one of mine and has been since I accepted my diagnosis in 2013, but do you think a Website could be considered a Special Interest, considering all the time we spend on here? I think it's part of mine.

Work is sending me to a Psychiatrist in March.

WP is more like an addiction to me.
It is an addiction.
It's having negative effects on my life.

Why is work sending you to a psychiatrist?

Depression.

I don't know whether to disclose my AS straight off, or just tell them the way life is and see if they work it out, and how they broach it.

Have you disclosed that you have ASD at work?

Yes. Everyone that knows me knows I have it. And I've spoken with my bosses and told them. Some of them already knew about Aspergers. When I describe it, they seem fascinated. It explains to them why I can write such amazing programs on the computer.

I have a new boss named Damien and I've just recently told him about it. He said he used to work with Autistic kids. I showed him a program I wrote ages ago and use every day. It does a particular task that interacts with our Department's computer systems. It's kind of hard to explain but I've automated a process that most people can only get done 20 to 30 in a day. My record through using my program is 200 in a day. We've got a huge backlog and you should have seen his eyes light up when I showed him. He knows my massive programming ability is due to my AS.

Kind of sad. I'd rather claim credit for it. But it's still me.
