He never got depressed right through it apparently.
He went to the doctor's after an accident at work. The doctor said, "If you want the day off work, just say so
He insisted he had a problem with his foot so the doctor sent him for an x-ray.
When the results came back, the doctor said, I'm sorry but you've got a real problem.
Shortly later, the bones in his foot crumbled. They amputated his foot. Later on, they amputated at the knee. After that, they amputated his whole leg and said they were 99% sure they got it.
Next thing, he got a lump in his neck and that was it. He went into a coma and shortly later, died.
Apparently one day, he was out the front with his crutches helping Mum with the gardening and a spastic boy that lived up the end of the street was walking past and said, hey mister, what happened to your leg and my Dad said, "Shark got it!"
He never lost his sense of humor.
I was born 3 weeks later, after he died.
At one time when he was in hospital, he went to sleep leaning on Mum's tummy and woke up and said, I shouldn't be leaning on you. He then said, this one's got to be a boy!

Thank you auntblabby. He was a very strong person. So was Mum, raising 2 kids on her own.
As weird as I was, she never did anything but praise me and taught me to love myself, although she didn't know I was Autistic, she knew I was different but she accepted that and never ridiculed me. But she didn't like it when I would stim in public.
