It's summer here....... And the streets are getting more deserted because they cannot take the heat.

Especially, every year's heat stroke cases.

But my powers comes from hate! No, not self hate nor misanthropy. Just as is, and it's neither internal nor external. It's complicated.

Hey, there you are! Where have you been lately?

Sleeping and working.

The doctor prescribed me some seroquel. The maximum daily allowance is 800mg. He gave me a sheet and said I could even cut them in half. So what does dopey do? He takes 2 of them. That would make 1600mg.

I'm lying on the bed and honestly, I couldn't lift my arms, they felt like they were made of lead.
I couldn't even hardly get off the bed.

I'm trying to type in 1600mg Seroquel to see if anyone else had done it and survived.

I had no one to call on. Ambulances cost too much.

I finally got the determination to get up off the bed and check out the strength. they were 400mg. So I only took 800mg which I knew a lot of people were on, so when i finally discovered i wasn't going to die from, i just flopped on the bed and let it take me to sleepyLand. It didn't take long.

But the strange thing is, they may be slow release but they don't make me feel heavy until about 5 hours after I take them. Then they start revving up and fast.

I've never slept so much in all my life.

Why do doctors even think it's a good idea to prescribe that sort of stuff to people who have to work full time? I mean, do they just presume that every mentally ill/disabled person has a lifestyle that permits them to sleep 16 hours a day?

Seroquel is a hell of a drug, I was strung out so bad on it in the psych ward that other patients had to help me do basic tasks and they were getting a bit worried. I flushed those first thing when I got home, still good to hear from you. You posting in this thread has become part of my aspie routine, it must not be broken now.

So post damn you post :D

LOL

True but ImAnAspie is not mentally ill to my knowledge, autism is not a mental illness, it can coexist with mental illnesses but its not a mental illness. I think its a neurological disorder, hell I don't even think of myself as mentally ill and I am diagnosed with bipolar, I don't believe everything they say. The closes thing I have is PTSD and no one who walked in my shoes wouldn't have that.

I'm glad you're able to sleep again. I've been sleeping through the night for the past four weeks.

Your body gets used to the Seroquel; to the point where it'll make you sleepy so you can sleep if you have sleeping problems, rather than just putting you out whenever. Putting you out whenever can be a good thing in mental hostels, though.

It's an interesting drug in that the higher doses really don't make you sleep more than the lower ones; the higher doses are for bipolar and schizophrenia (bad OCD too) where you want to block dopamine.

At lower doses it's mostly a very potent anti-histamine, which is what makes you sleepy.

I wouldn't stay on it for a prolonged time unless you really need to (for the antipsychotic stuff), as the withdrawals suck when you stop taking it.

I've never been on Seroquel and from what I hear, so I only know about the stories that people have told.

Positives and negatives. If you need it, it's probably better to be on it than not.

It's just an anti-psychotic that has less side-effects compared to the older ones like Thorazine. Does the same thing, though.
