It's May 4th, so I've been observing Star Wars Day by dressing my cat like a Jedi and having a movie marathon. On top of this, everyone in the house decided to barbecue and hasn't been harassing me to join them outside. Oh, and the Eta Aquarid meteor shower picked and appropriate day to peak!

Star Wars and meteor showers. :3

It's May 4th, and I'm (sort-of) a nerdy type. :nerdy:

I remembered that I had a great time at my local comic book store. I got lots of comics for cheap prices and I talked to two people about our interests.

A friend of mine lent me his copy of a novellette of Deathnote, which made me pretty happy. *swears she is not an otaku*

Earlier, said friend interrupted an assembly, wearing a tricorn and talking with a pirate accent. It went from boring and pointless to fun and entertaining in three seconds.

I delivered a presentation to a small group of people with ASD/their parents about anxiety and they seemed to really be engaged with it. One mom in particular was furiously taking notes on her phone and a few people asked questions and wanted resources. It makes me so happy whenever I know that I have helped other people navigate their obstacles...obstacles that I may have struggled with, or sometimes, even continue to struggle with. My anxiety and self-esteem used to be horrible. Now I value myself more. That's the happiest thing of all.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
