I've got a formal HFA dx last week.

While I understand that, given my symptoms, HFA fits better then AS would, I also think that the connotation of AS would be more helpful in the long run then HFA could be. AS seems to offer a more productive and brighter future, which HFA does not.

Other people, society at large, seem to react quite distinctly differently; Especially when they know next to nothing about AS or HFA, so strong is the association of the word "autisme" with "ret*d".
