My upbringing tells me to Suck it up.
Then goes push me to things I don't want to do.
Then pulls me back from it. Huh...
People wouldn't let me be because of my body language as a sign of incompetence.
Then people ends up bugging me to do their work for them. Huh..?
And so people ends up watching me.
In the end, they just let me be. HUUUHH???? O.o

So screw them all! I'll just keep things in secret then. I don't have the words for it after all...

I've made a promise to myself that I'll never have another breakdown while my parents are still alive.

Hello, I am new here. I dubbed myself Sunshine because that is what I always wished I could bring into another's life; although I have isolated myself so that's a big contradiction. Anyway, I don't know anyone else with Aspergers so I came here looking for friends of common ground.

Welcome aboard. There's a whole forum for introductions: viewforum.php?f=11

And now for something completely different:

Welcome SophieAshby. That's a lovely name. My daughter's name is Sophie too :)

Where I'm from, the DSM is only one of several guides medical professionals go by in making a diagnosis. Where I'm from, Asperger's Syndrome still exists and people are still being diagnosed with it today. Just because those who produce the DSM decided Asperger's should be lumped in with Autism for convenience sake doesn't make them right. As I said, the DSM is only one of several manuals Psychiatrists, Psychologists and the like go by in making a diagnosis. Happy Asperger's!

ImAnAspie, you'll have to forgive me but, every time I see your avatar it reminds me of character from a Baltic piece of folklore. Yes, I know that is not the source just that is what I often think of.

That's okay. Which character?

Tribbles remind me of The Lorax for some reason. They remind me of the trees in that movie.
