^ For a while I've actually been using this little late model CRT I picked up for $10 at a thrift store as my main TV, and I honestly think the picture on it looks nicer than most LCDs. It's only 480i, but amazingly it works perfectly with a composite connection hooked to a modern IPTV box. I own a small 1080p LCD as well, but I'm currently using it as a monitor on my desktop PC. It's higher resolution than the CRT, sure, but having watched a bit of TV on it the picture looks washed out and the audio quality is much poorer.

Yeah, I know, LCD monitors typically have crappy built in speakers, if any.

But still, I'm amazed that old-ass CRT TVs are usable at all in 2016. I actually used to have a 32-inch flatscreen, but I wasn't using it much and I didn't really have a good place to put it at the time, so I let my grandmother buy it off me. She was pleased with it because it matched the display resolution of her laptop, and allowed her to get a better view when editing pictures. I regret selling it now, as it was somewhat decent quality for an older 720p display, but I'm glad she's happy with it.
