Meh. How are you? I'm trying to fix computer problems. Hopefully it was just overheating as there was quite a bit of dust in the heatsink, but we'll see.

I'm doing alright. Yeah, that can cause a bit of extra heat if the dust gathers up. I doubt you have cooling issues if this has just happened recently. I use CPU-Z to monitor temperatures and such.

Good to hear . I figured I'd try it anyway. Sigh, the screws for the fan are very small and fiddly :/. I'll probably have to get my mum to help again (I don't really do fine grained motor control well). Also, I imagine CPU-Z is just a Windows program. I'd use GKrellM under Linux .

The screws? I take it you unscrewed the fan to give it a better clean, probably a good idea, normally I just give it a hoover on the inside. I believe it is strictly a Windows program, do you use Linux as your primary OS? I used it a bit (mostly in college) and it was fun to get more involved with command line interface. I also liked the fact the requirements were so low, makes it ideal for those with really low spec machines, plus its free!

Yeah, I couldn't be arsed with going to get the hoover really, even if that had occurred to me first . Indeed, I use Linux most of the time at home . It's only really when I want to play some games that I boot Windows.
